1. John, Dan,

As for the lens i am also planning to use a 50mm macro, for shots to be taken in the bathroom. As for the composition

i am not worrying about for the following reason: the architect asked me to shoot on two different days.

On the first day i'll have to take photographs at the bare rooms, as he designed them, and i think he'd wish to show his skills.

Another day, when the rooms will be furnished (and probably arranged by the same architect) i'll take another set of

photographs. As for the first shooting day, I understand that my task is to show how he designed the rooms, but would a minimal

details help? For exemple, some towel in the bathroom, some cooking books on the kitchen , or some landscape

book in the bookshelfs the same architect designed and he wish to be photographed at? What do you think?

  2.
Thanks for helping,
Michael, Ellis, Blake,
I tried at my home some shooting just to see the kind of problems I could find during the shooting. Infact, the first problem found was about the vertical lines. So I practiced to shoot with a leveled camera and using the lcd panel on the back of the camera. I also practiced to fix vertical lines in Pixelmator. I also tryed some HDR just to see how it renders the picture. The effect is like a cartoon but if i use minimal settings the image renderes much better and less cartoony. I also tried a photo to light the room with the flash, avoiding in this way the burned view from the window.

  3.
Hi,
a friend of a friend works as an architect. He saw some of my landscape photos and some time later asked me to shot a house he designed the interiors. He told me also that he will pay me, i reply him i'll offer it free because photography is just a hobby for me and it will be the first time i shoot interior design. anyway i wish to arrive at that day at my best.
I have the following equipment:
olympus e-3,
with 7-14mm, 50mm macro, 14-54mm.
Also own a quantum T2 flash and 2 nikons sb-26, two wireless triggers, a white umbrella, 2 stands and a sturdy camera tripod.

On the sw side, besides the editing program, i have a hdr software and another one for making panoramic pictures.
I have also read a 200 pages book on interior design shooting.
the shooting will be probably have place in 6/7 days.
any suggestions?
thanks for helping

  4.
Thank you very much for helping. Sorry for having delayed my post but due to the italian time zone. I posted late last night and came home from office few minutes ago.
Your answers help me understanding better the matter. I'd add some example to explain better some of my doubts.
Let's pick as an example. I performed a search on www.istockphoto.com for the following words: "spaghetti sauce fork". I got some result that are quite similar to me, especially the ones that show the fork sorrounded by the spaghetti covered with the sauce and the basil. So, might one of those photographers accuse somebody else for copying his picture ?

  6.
Many claims that subject does not matter in photography and everything mostly relay on photographer ability. Without any doubt a good subject without the photography skills does not give justice to a nature landscape, such as bad light, exposure problem, loss of contrast, shadow detail, blurrings and so on. But what if a photographer has at his disposal just a monotonous environment to photography at? I mean for istance, a marine coast hundreds miles with the same rock formations, where the coast almost keep the same level from sea beetween 1 and 10 feets high, where the wave are ofter low and very rarely can reach 1,5 ft and where the tide may rise the level not more the 6 inches. Still, a forest where there are the same two/three type of trees, with extremely rare fog formation.
thanks for looking / commenting

  7.
Hi,

I have seen an Apo Nikkor 9/305mm lens that is sold without shutter. I wonder if it can be used as is without shutter, considered
that I normally use B pose. I own a Shen Hao PTB camera that use linhof technika tyoe plates. Do you also know if this camera can accept the Apo Nikkor 9/305mm lens.

thanking you for looking / helping,
Antonio

I steyed away for a while and now i am beginning to put in practice your suggestions,
Bharat, I have already invert mounted the wooden clothespin and it should work. Tomorrow i am going to develop and hanging that way.
Rashed, the hot air cabinet is a good idea. As for the changing room I had already bought a Harrison tent, as I read very good news about that. Anyway the Photoflex changing rooms seems to be quicker to use.
In the next day I should develop and i'll keep you informed.

Thanks again for helping,

Ciao,

Antonio

  9.
Rich,

the problem is still present and seems to afflict just raw files. As I shot Raw+Jpg I tryed to import jpgs alone and no problem arise, whilst the raws change. It also seems that when the raw file is browsed prior the full preview is rendered it is equal to the original Jpg, then, once preview rendering finishes, images get slight different color. Just to explain, it slightly changes color as when color profile is changed.

  10.
hi,

I am experiencing a problem using the lightroom trial version 2.
I have already imported the pictures but as soon as I browse them I see the images colour and tone slightly changes as if the software applyed automatically some picture settings o presets mofidying the colour rendition. For exemple: blue, well saturated sky became weaker blue. I tryed to modify in the preferences the tab relating presets and declicked auto adjusting. but problem is still present. can anybody help me?
thanks for looking / helping,

Antonio

  11.
I ended up to bring with me the 10 mpx P&S and I was very happy about that choice. More weight would have been too much to carry around and the quality I got with the Ps satisfied me anyway. What I missed, sometimes, was the optical viewfinder, more often, when needed to mount the polarizer; then the use of the polarizer is a little bit tricky because of adaptor to be use, but it's not a great issue. I, sometimes, also missed some reach more than the 60mm equiv. allowed, while i found very useful the 24mm wide end.
herewith attached two of the photos I took along with the crops, choosen among the hundreds taken. The one inside the curch was taken at 1/13 and 2.8 which is the maximum aperture allowed at that focal lenght.
Ciao,
Antonio

00UFkY-166305584.jpg.0072b2762d0ee95a564940eb3ce2a542.jpg

  12.
I'll try again with wooden clothespin, but this time I'll buy them by myself, so that I can find the ones that better suit for hanging the film, instead using what I already found at home, that have uneven grip and often the film slips away.

Thanks again for all the infos you gave me.
Ciao,

Antonio
