  1. Thanks, so much, folks.

     

    Art: I stopped down 1/3 stop from the widest aperture, because I had achieved a fast enough shutter speed and wanted that little bit more depth of field. Hope this helps.

  2. A calm day on the Saint Lawrence during my recent Puffins Galore and

    so much more workshop. If you read the techs, you might ask why I was

    at ISO 800 - easy answer; it allowed a shutter speed of 1/3200s to

    freeze the action I knew would come when it took-off - that image is

    for another time.

  3. Here's one from a very favorite spot of mine; Bonaventure Island in

    Quebec. It's now the largest Northern Gannet Gannetry in the world.

    70mm ISO 400 f/6.3 @ 1/1000s

    Northern Gannets (Morus bassanus, fou de bassin, NOGA) returning to

    their nest after a storm at the largest Northern Gannet colony in the

    world at Parc national de l'Ile-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Perce on

    Bonventure Island, Quebec in Canada. Northern Gannets has also been

    called Solan, Solan Goose and Solant Bird.
