Rainer,
I downloaded Irfan View and the EXCIF and IPTC plugins and was able to input data into all the fields, Keywords, Categories etc and save it as when I reopen that image in Irfanview the data is there, however IF i email myself a test read of the same image, the IPTC data that I had entered doesn't appear to be there??

Andrew, if might be more helpfull if you can elaborate some on the system and Image editing software you are working with.
Are you using Photoshop Elements 6, Lightroom, CS Bridge etc
Just my humble opine.

Doug

Anyone have experience using IrfanView free software for embedding Meta Data (IPTC type) into images?

Thank you,
The client is asking for "Jpeg, compressed to level 12 in Photoshop/level 100 in Lightroom, minimum size of 24mb and nlt 100mb, uncompressed, and Adobe RGB color profile"...
Ok the PS3 system I have only compresses to level 10, I have purchased PS6 but have yet to install it.
Does anyone know if PS6 will compress to "level 12" they are asking for?
Thanks again all.

Zaakiy,
Thank you for your assistance.

Thank you Mark,
Appreciate your help.
Possibly you have asuggestion for my next question.
Some of the images the buyer is interested in were Canon AE1 "film" images that were scanned into Photo shop.
If that is the case would the Photo Shop enhancements be sufficient for "hi-res"??
Thank You,
Doug

Thanks 4 response and interest...
OK, I am in negotiations with an interested party in the use of some of my images.
They plan to send me info as to their requirements for "High Resolution Images" (Hi Res)
I do not know at this point what those requirements are, I was just hoping to get a jump on it if this was a standard
industry practice,...
I believe the use will be for calendars and/or other commercial hi-res purposes; 8and1/2 X 11 or larger.
Peter, thank you for your comment, so I am gathering then, a hi-res image would not be one reduced in size as for
Photo.net, and would require a full size burn to a CD/DVD in order to present this "customer" with the hi-res they are
probably looking for?
Regards

Is there a procedure for devolping HiRes images, does this require starting with a RAW image, or is this
a process that can be done in Photoshop3 or PS6?

Couldn't get the others to upload here but did load them on my workspace.

Hi, I like the Moon Scapes, and these are quite good.
These posts have been very informative.
I use a DSLR Canon 40D last night on Manual, "bulb" and varied the exposure from 1 to 5 seconds.
Results were Ok
I'll post them on my workspace as I haven't quite figured out how to post one here...

Velia,
Your best bet is to go to the Microtek website and if it is like Canon, there are FAQ's there for various models and if you don't find your answer on the various postings therein then contac Tech Support, ther should be a email link on the Microtek site.

Doug

Thank you all,
Didn't wish to violate any protocol so to speak.
I have a lot of photos and categorizing them for this site or any site I understand, its just a bit difficult at times.
TM you are correct it does make you more objective about your work.
Thanks again.

Looked in FAQ's and couldn't find, or small part...
Does Photo.net have written definitions of image categories?
Do the editers (Elfs) place or replace an image into a particular category?
Re: Some images seem to be placed out of category.
Re2: Some photos are hard to place in a specific category.
Is ther an "other" or "Misc", "odds and ends" category?
Sincerely,
