On second thought though, if you were zooming as the shutter was open, the guitar hand would be stretched to. Never did fool with that technique so can't say from experience. However you got it, I like it. That does sound like a good time.

Appropriately titled, before I saw the title, I thought two people lying in bed together. Perfect background.

I like the crowded feel of the garage/small nightclub with the mottled colors of a cool vibe going on. Very nice. Is this a zoom out while the shutter is open?

This represents your point very well. It is funny but your point about people into pictures of girls with guns is very astute and that is frightening. This is just a pun off of that to which I have to say, if she was in a bikini, you could then attract the real sickos: Gun loving Petiphiles.
You have some really good work posted.

Its Jack's buffet! And the real boy is looking and searching the crumbs for the sandwich that he is thinking about evidenced by the thought bubble floating above his head while the pigeons as usual think nothing but where there next crumb is.
Great shot!

This is beautiful the way the head gazes into the depths of the background as if a performer on stage composing itself in the light from wherever it is found and welcomed by the crowd of sparkling dew drops in the audience of the field (although the bokeh is likely not dew). The way the leaves are poised and layered is special too.
Now, for that title, I wouldn't go as far as saying it is Hallmarkish but maybe it could be on one of those small white billboard trailers with the changeable letters sitting out front of an evangelical born again christian church.
Jeff, I wouldn't call this title lame, maybe not your best but I wouldn't have said anything had Fred not brought it up. I, like Fred, think your titles are a very integral part of your images and I think I once pointed out that you could make a living solely naming people's images for them. You do have a way with titles.
Fred, what the heck!? What is this "Personally:" thing? Never seen you do that before; so is your interpretation and feeling now not your personal opinion? Just messing with you.

The colors seen through the water are exceptional. With the eye partially hidden by the mouth, it looks a little contorted but that is what makes this most interesting aside from the colors. Also, it looks like that trout is going after your camera with that wide open mouth.
Beautiful catch - on the flyrod. Is that a Muddler Minnow?

Wow! Funny how watching Lord of the Rings night before last influenced my reaction to this. The silveryness (don't think that's a word) is what struck me as the forests of the elves in Lord of the Rings. I'll go along with the urban refugee in lieu of an elf but I'm sticking to the silvery elven forest impression - they do look alive and reading over her shoulder.
Must be the silveryness (there goes that word again) that contributes to the film-like quality to this image.

Excellent image and follow up treatment. You used black, white, primary colors of yellow and blue and the green in between that when mixed they make. However, there is no symbolic Valentine red like that omission is a continuation of the title and says he has no Valentine on Valentine being single. Interesting and well put together.

She is like an elf in an enchanted forest! The light falling on the leaves and the shadows between bring a rich texture to this that looks like it could have been film.
Enjoy your fall, look forward to seeing your posts this winter of your labor over the summer.

Gordon, these are amazing and at least two so far were successful in emerging as adults. Don't know if they found a mate after I released them or not.
Jeff, you do have a way with words.
Jack, you're right about the heightened awareness. When my wife teached art, she would teach about a certain time period or artist and then have the kids use that style to create something. It was amazing to see some of the kids that struggled in their regular curriculum classes just come up with some great art work, which got them some positive attention, which in turn gave them a confidence that carried over into their structured classes where they showed improvement - and this is a private school.
I believe book learning is important but there are just so many things from art to nature that many kids are not exposed to that when they are, become stimulated and interested in learning.
Thanks,

Thank you for looking.

This old set of Ice Houses in Arabi, Louisiana were on there way out before Katrina. Four years later, they are barely hanging on and have had a sign on them notifying owners of impending demo.
Many of the old and historic buildings in New Orleans and the surrounding areas await the same fate as these two.
I'm just glad the soul of the city is in the hearts of its people and not the walls of its buildings.
BTW, I used the "rain on the windshield" filter.

The silhouettes in the foreground cradle the night sky beautifully and the colors on the horizon accent the darkness perfectly.

Beautiful composition! The oranges in the palms & blues in the sky seem a bit oversaturated. Very inviting layout enticing me to walk right up the steps.

The composition is really fantastic, unfortunately, the vibrancy of the blues seem a bit overdone maybe even the rainbo a little. The middle/foreground hills are really inviting with the splashes of sunshine over the shaded trees, great detail and the reflection of the bo and sky is beautiful.

This portrait really portrays a man that loves and is excited about film, and the lighting really adds a brightness and life to his emotion and the importance and "Up in Lights" that old movies used to be.
I like the black and white or lack of color here that seems natural and unedited like the old film that once played.
Excellent work.

That is a great happy smile you captured. This is such a rich picture the candidness makes me think you are the third sneaking up on the two. I hope you print this out 16x20 or larger and hang it on your wall.
