I have the 50 CF (B62) and I need to remove all the sectional lens shades on the P holder to avoid vignetting.

Who will buy new Zeiss ZV lenses?
Rich Japanese dentists.

Why does this matter to anyone except Franz?

Bill:
Could this be optical distortion? I know simple office copiers can "never" make a copy in perfect registration with the original.

Also you might want to check out www.fluidmounting.com

Doug:
Thanks. Whichever one I finally get, I plan to get your adjustable V-holders and AN glass

Setting aside the differences in software packages, and the FMA with the V750, is there any advantage in
the V750 from the viewpoint of merely optical quality? Vincent at photo-i seemed to think not. Yet I see
Photographyblog has a link to a recent PC magazine review of the V750 that seems to support the claim of
better scans from the V750 due to the coated optics.
Any opinions, first hand experiences?
FWIW I already have Vuescan, and an it8 target from Faust, as well as Colorvision monitor profiler so while
the full SF6/HDR would be a nice addition, it's not going to sway me for the V750 by itself
Thanks

Japan uses US type plugs, and runs at about 100V. I've used a Roadstor in Japan (also to play
DVD's on the hotel TV) w/o issues.

When Mamiya also made tripods, they had a tripod head with spring tensioned pins that
mated with the holes in the body to prevent camera twisting.

Thanks. Now I need to wait until HP gets the B9180 to market - maybe end of this month according to IJA and Adorama.

I note that the upcoming HP B9180 has an Ethernet 802.3 10/100 TX connection
as well as USB 2.0 Since I would like to install a new printer about 25 ft or
so away from my desktop, I am interested in the Ethernet option instead of USB
(USB cables over 15 ft are hard to find). I'm not going to a wireless set-up -
had too many issues with GIMP in the past with that. My question - what is
likely to be the difference in performance/speed and quality of signal if any
using the Ethernet instead of USB?
Thanks

Mike: Make that the SCA3202 adaptor not 3083.
Sorry..

Mike:
I have a 40-MZ-2 that I'm thinking of using with my E1. According to Metz' website the
SCA-3083 adaptor for the 44 MZ-2 will provide full compatibility except TTL flash control,
HSS sync. and is not compatible with the SCA3045 connection cable (not sure what that is).
go to www.metz.de/en/photo_electronics/adapter.143.html (note how they spell "adapter")

Since the Hassy never has to be flipped vertical, I think a ballhead is not the solution. I use a
Manfrotto 3205 plus Manfrotto 410 mini geared head with the Bogan qr system. I have a
500C/M with PM5 and 150 CF, nothing heavier. I do have an Arca B1 as well, on a Velbon
carbon fiber 630 but this is for my Oly E1 only.

I was not aware that Kyocera marketed the RX -II outside of Japan. I had always thought the
RX-II was an attempt to offer a cheaper camera body. The only one I ever saw was at BIC
camera in Tokyo.

FYI Vincent at Photo-i has just started his long awaited review of
the V-750. Still work in progress.

I have a corrupted profile for Epson Premium Glossy on my wife's
R320. All the other paper profiles work fine; when I try to use the
PG profile the printer just stops and I nget a message "jobs
stopped" This is on a Mac G5 with OSX 10.4.
I tried to locate the profiles, in Colorsync and in the Epson
folders, no luck. I tried re-installing the printer, but still no
luck.
Can anyone tell me where to locate these profiles so I can delete
the offending one and start over?
I could not find any help from a quick search on Photonet, but
apologies if this is an old topic.

Gerry:
Thanks. Curious that Nikon could do that with non-electronic linked lens (I have an old Tamron 400SP/f4 Adaptall). The F-100 would provide the focus confirmation. I hope to use the same lens with the E-1, 800mm F4.

I know cameraquest offers adaptors for various brand lenses to enable use with Olympus 4/3
mount. I know you must use stop down metering. But will the E-1 camera provide focus
confirmation (that is, the focus light comes on). I used to be able to do that with a Tamron
adaptall lens on my old Nikon F-100.
Thanks in advance

Someone made a comment a while back that flatbed scanner manufacturers used to stress
dpi (ppi, whatever) because chips/sensors were relatively cheap so the dpi specs could be
increased from model to model cheaply, and then I guess the marketing hype followed from
that. But, the quality of the lens used was always "poor" since that would have been too
expensive to improve at the price points these machines were aimed at. Now with the V
series it seems to me Epson is finally starting to work on the optics to improve overall
performance, and you know that can't be bad.. as the Beatles would say.

Vincent at photo-i has posted a couple of initial scans made from
35mm on a new V-700. He sounds impressed,

Now that I've had another 5 mins to look at the web page, it seems they also have Epson Easy Print and Epson Print Pro - sounds like what Canon announced just yesterday. Also, it may be that you can set "Adobe RGB Mode" profile directly into the printer, have to study that some more to be sure.
And - two (new?) papers "Ultra Smooth Fine Art" and "Velvet Fine Art"

Anyone tried the Photosmart Pro B9180 13x19 Inkjet Printer?

I've had mine about 1 month, long enough to run out of light gray and light magenta inks.
Works great, I've not had any problems with track marks etc. that some others have
mentioned. I'm waiting for more 3rd-party profiles on paper though - like Red River. Now,
I'm mostly using Epson papers with the closest HP profile. I have not printed any BW as yet,
but 10x12 and 13x19. The prints look fabulous. Highly recommended.
