Leave the gear at home and buy postcards while you are there.

I am enjoying the lens and price savings having bought a Canon-refurbished lens from B&H. It's a 100 f/2.0. Being able to MA the lens brought it to critical sharpness. The savings was the difference between the post-disaster / USD value reduction new price versus what it cost new just before those events.

Canon doesn't want things to be too easy, else you'll rest on your laurels. Go Canon!

C is usually reserved for backgrounds. So all you have left are A and B.

You're overthinking things. Go take some pictures and enjoy your new gear.

Agreed with David, though my experience is with air shows. I pulled out the monopod once to support my lens and immediately put the monopod away. I was only able to track wide ranging and unpredictable flight pattern by hand and body motion.

How does this qualify as a disaster?

What's with putting the at sign before people's names? Disconcerting.

Agreed, dad gum it!

Don't forget the 100mm f/2.0. Nice.

Joel - DPReview has a Panasonic forum where you'll find exactly what you are looking for.

Richard, Robin can disassemble and reassemble a 5DII while blindfolded in a darkened room. I can, too, but the camera won't work as well afterward. I usually wind up with extra components that had rolled beyond reach.

Mine will nail non-moving and moving objects. It’s just that nailing a fast moving object is more work with a 5D, and what you nail is in the center of the frame. That, plus the full frame reach is not what you get with a crop.

You don't want a 5D for airshows. I get by with one, but it's way easier with a body meant for distant action.

Your copy is softish wide open, optimized for 16mm, and tends to be better at wide angles than narrower.

It's a dead bug, right?

Canon supplies just enough flash automation that you have to outwit.
Here's a bunch of articles, some of which concentrate on Canon speed lights.

Don't go off all PC on a simple question. It's not as though the OP compared the imagery on TV to the unrealistic CGI in 2012.

Get the 16-35.

15-85 is great on the 7D. Get that one.

Maybe the OP bought the lens from Cracker Barrel? What do you expect?

The benefit of the 70-20 f/2.8 MK II was early adopters spurring Canon into creating stratospheric prices for new designs once they saw how many photographers went for the $2,500.00 upgrade.

The new lens might not be the right tool for the job due to it's focal length and speed, but will perform well in other conditions.
