What are some good things to say on your homepage that will keep potential
customers interested? I am redoing my website and any ideas would be appreciated!

Try renting an 85 1.4 or a 200 2.0.

I think the problem is that the Sunpak is not TTL compatible with the D70 which requires i-TTL, which only comes with the SB600 or 800.

First, you have your slowest shutter speed on your camera set to 1/60. You can change that in your custom settings menu.
Second, it is much easier to work in manual mode with a flash. Shutter speed does not affect flash, only apeture does. Therefore, you can set the apeture to what ever, set the shutter speed to what ever, set the flash to TTL, and the flash will compensate. Try it out, and good luck.

They have great prices, but most of their stuff never seems to be in stock. When it is, go's really quickly.

<p>I think what happened is that when you edit the raw file in RSE, it doesn't actually edit the RAW file. It makes an edit and saves the edit in a folder called ".RWSettings". This should be in a folder where your RAW files are. It then uses those settings for exporting to JPG/TIFF.</p>
<p>I think you deleted this not knowing what that folder was.</p>
<p>Hope that helps.</p>

<p><i>"I don't know if this applies to the D80, but the D70 operates at reduced speeds ( around 1.5 FPS) under all exposure conditions when "Long Exposure NR" is enabled."</i></p>
<p>My D70 is not slower when long NR is enabled. I shot @ 1/250, continous, ISO 1600 and I see no difference when shooting at full speed.
</p>
<p>What you are probably referring to is this happening at slower shutter speeds. Your camera is not going to achieve maximum fps rate if you have a slow shutter speed. Now, if you combine a slow shutter speed and a high ISO, yes, you may get longer shutter speeds. I do know that if you shoot at about 1 second it will take 2 seconds for the full exposure to complete because of the NR.</p>

did anyone actually read all of that?

He's using the bigger flash (sb800) as a slave. The smaller(sb600) one doesnt work as a slave. The two flash set up would not work if the smaller one was on the hot shoe.

definately the Nikkor 105mm F2.8 VR Micro, fits your lense selection perfectly.

From the looks of it you would get an odd color cast from the wood.

I really recommend the sigma 15-30. I bought it about a month ago from sigma4less.com for 380. Great deal. The lens is sharp, and the widest of your choices.
However, it comes with a built in hood, which prevents it from being able to use a filter. It does accept gelatin filters in the rear. Another draw back of the lens is that it flares easily.
It also comes in a nice EX case.
And - for full frame - it has a film size image circle.

Wow! Thanks for all the great responses. I think i'll begin by taking the assisting path. Now all I have to do is find a pro in my area...

Well, after I do a few "low cost" weddings, i'll get enough money for those items. I'm kinda low on money now after those huge purchases set me way back...

very well...

I have been into photography my entire life. I have never taken any "formal"
classes, mostly reading here and other stuff on the internet, almost daily. I am
on my school's yearbook photography staff and know most of the in's and out's of
photoshop. I've shoot a ton of sports and candids for it. I shoot completly RAW,
and of course post process every shot.

My first wedding is in Novemeber, for my Aunt (for free). After using this
wedding to get some sample images, I think i'll put an add up on craigslist or
something. Check out my portfolio, <a

I have a Nikon D70s, 50mm 1.8, 28-70, 70-300g, 55 micro, sb 600, and a sigma
15-30. I bought all this with MY money, no help from my parents.
<br />
<br />
I dont want to do wedding photography just for the money (although it would be
nice), but simply because I love photography.
<br /><br />
So, would you hire me?

BRING TONS OF MEMORY!!!

Are these types of lenses the same, meaning will an AF-D flash unit work with a
"G" lens?

Wow! Great answers.
I'll be a sophomore in high school next year. I just bought a D70s with a 28-80 and 70-300. Yes, yes, your thinking I just wanted to go out and blow all my own money. But actually, I saved up for over a year and got no help from my parents. Since my step dad never used his point and shoot, I found a new hobby with photography. After using it for about half a year, I began to really want one of the high-end dSLRs that my school let me use. I started to save up from Christmas, b-days, and work, ect..., and eventually saved up enough money. My mom, of course, didn't want me to buy it because she thought it would be a major distraction from school and too much money to spend. But at the end of the year when grades came out, mine were good enough and she let me buy the camera. Now having it for about a month, I have been able to get so many shoots with it than I would not have with "my" point and shoot. I've taken crisp shoots of dragon flies, tigers (zoo), flowers, and much more because of it (not to mention the shutter button was broken on my point and shoot and it put an ugly yellow line down the picture). And yes, I did study the basics and "not-so-basic" principals of photography so I would know what I was doing with the camera. I love taking pictures with it so much that I want to start doing weddings now (maybe I'll wait...)!
So, to all you parent photographers out there, if your kid wants a camera like I did, let him build up his portfolio and save up on his own, and that will truly show if he loves photography (like me :) ).
If you want, check out my photobucket:

What do you think of kids and dSLR's? Do you think they should be allowed to
have them or should they have to wait until they're older to make such an
investment?

Hey, I was at that same air show!

The D50 and the D70 actually have the same flash sync.
When I shoot with the D70 for my school's yearbook, the custom white balance is a really nice feature. This allows you to have more control over the color temp (orangeness and blueness) of the final picture.
As for me, I am going to buy a D70s this week :) instead of the D50 just because I dont think I will be able to live without the fine tuning of the white balance. But, they are virtually the same camera. Have fun buying your new camera!
What would YOU say if someone offered to be your assistant?

So, say your just minding your business shooting a wedding and someone comes up
to you asking if you need an assistant. Remember, this person is totally random.
You have no idea who they are. They introduce themselves to you (politely, and
of course when your not busy taking pictures or something) and ask you the
question right up front. What would you say?
