Shots like this require razor sharpness somewhere, normally in the middle of the flower.

Too dark to really tell what is going on.

I would prefer a bit more contrast between figure and background

If subject were sharp with the hands in motion, it would have been a much better photo.

Needs brighter, more contrast, and sharpening.
-
Shadow areas need to be much brighter. The photo does not make it as silhouettes.
-
Possibly improved with weak fill flash. PS CS offers this capability as do some other plugins.
-
This is a photo where soft image and soft contrast work well.
-
Tone down image of flash in gir's eyes.

But what are they up to?

Needs some manipulation to bring out dark areas, all of which need more detail. Properly done would being this photo an EX rating.

Too damn dark

The painted pole (old parking meter post?) in foreground is disruptive. Either get inside it with superwide and just take wall, or move in very close to pole with superwide to make it main subject with wall as background. This scene has many possibilities for photos of individual parts. Also a bit bothered that green line on left has been cropped out, but understand that crop out may have been necessary due to other stuff not visible in this photo.
However, all this notwithstanding, still a fascinating photo.

People need brightening to show detail.
-
A bit more contrast and sharpening might improve it slightly.

I do like sharp images and those with controlled DOF.
-
Would like to see the green field in the distance stronger in color and brightness.
