  1. I have looked at this one many times, and I like it better every time. The composition is good, and the sharpness is perfect, the conditions being what you describe. I feel with you down in the mosh pit, I experienced something like it at an Opeth concert this summer, where I got three usable pictures before I had to get out to save myself from being jumped over and trempled down.
  2. I took pictures at the same concert, and this one is much better than the ones I got of her. You have really caught her like she is (on stage - concentrating on her playing, while Lux Interior takes care of the audience. Sharp and clear, and with a very nice back light. even with her red hair, black & white suits the picture well.

I also liike this, and I have experienced the same as you many times. The trick is to make the most of the three songs and try not to think photography when you see the rest of the concert in perfect lightning! I like the angles here, topped out by his hair. It looks like you had a fairly high ISO setting, but in b/w that works fine here.

Personally I don't like tilting, for me it looks like he is almost falling over his drums. That said, the picture itself is good, and I really like the thoughtful expression on his face.

Vanessa - this one gives me nothing. I think I understand what you have tried to do, but for me it resembles the 80% of all my pictures that I throw away. I myself prefer that the object matter is reasonably sharp. Then there is the added bonus of motion blur on a hand, a guitar, and so on. That is what I like, others may have other preferrences.

I have seen your portfolio, and there are many good pictures there, my favorite is The Pose Nate: Harmony of Lies. But keep posting, I like your approach to concert photography, if not all of them are equally succesful (whose are, anyway?).

  3. So you have been to a Satyricon concert, you too, Jaroslav! I like this. His look is a little bit strange, but I like that you have done it in b&w. And you got it sharp, something I have had a problem with at Satyricon concerts. Did you like them?

I really like this Siddharta project, and this is one of the best IMO. What I like is the colour approach, where each picture is dominated by one colour that often is heavily saturated (or so it looks).
