Greetings Ken, and thanks for the answer.. well I am not completely sure the kiev is 100% equal to the minox, and since this is a sensitive part of the camera, i might not take the risk of buying one just to take that part out ... Maybe I find a parts minox on ebay, but If anyone here has one for parts please contact me :)
Thanks!

Greetings everyone :) I have a Minox 35 gl that was not working well (shutter
stuck).
Since then I dissassembled all its mechanics, and did a complete cleaning job.
However, I broken one piece (a small metal part that controls the lens diaphragm).
Sadly I wont be able to put my minox into good use again without that piece, and
since these cameras (specially the older models) are very prone to some
problems, I was wondering if any of you has one for pieces that could spare
me... i would pay the mailing costs ofc...
Thanks for reading and the time spent on this :)
Greetings from Portugal!

ehehe that is true, but I went to read the manual again, and found that the explanation is a bit obscure... :)
Anyway, i put a roll to test the camera, and i think i really need to substitute that small piece of plastic because the dents dont let me advance well the film :(
I wonder if anyone in this forum has a rollei 35 for spares, and would be willing to sell me this part...
Thanks!

Thanks!

Greetings dear photography lovers!
I bought one ebay Rollei 35t (described as untested, but cheap) that
has unfortunately several problems...
1st one:
Lens barrel is always out. It is sticked out on taking position and
wont rotate to go inside :( (After I opened the top part of the camera
i saw it is loose the small metal piece that acts when you press the
release lens barrel button. I dont know if this is supposed to be like
that)
2nd:
There was a bolt inside the camera, between the lens barrel and the
shutter mechanism. I managed to take it out but dont know where it
came from (possibly from the lens barrel brake mechanism)
3rd: The plastic dented part of the film advance mechanism (the big
dented wheel is made of metal, the small one of plastic) has some
damaged dents :| Although film still advances it wont advance in a
single stroke most times...
the good news:
- Lens were very dirty from outside, but after some cleaning action,
they seem to be in very good condition :)
- Shutter speeds, lens iris and meter seem to work perfectly!
Guess they forgot to mess with those things ehehehe
I believe some persons in this wonderfull forum have already repaired
rollei 35 s, and might be able to give me some help and directions to
have this camera working..
I am not afraid of working on cameras, although I am not sure if I can
manage a full disassembly of a camera (would be my first time ehe).
If anyone has a repair manual it could be very very usefull, if anyone
has a spare plastic piece of the film advance mechanism to sell me
would be perfect too and all other help will be very important to me..
I just re-assembled the camera and will try to shoot an old film just
to see if shutter is ok, but having this camera with a bad advancing
mechanism and a lens barrel always out wont give me much pleasure :(
(the camera looses the small size factor and can trust very much the
film advance).
I have made some photos and uploaded them temporary to here:

Thanks everyone and greetings from Portugal!

I still am not quite sure what the problem is with my minox... Here i describe my accidents and discoveries:
- I decided to put some oil on the shutter blades... Unfortunately a big drop felt on them and a lot of oil got inside the shutter blades/lens. This ruined the speed (it was ruined before) and got the lens with oil :(((
Since this would ruin any image from this little baby i decided to do something drastic... clean it with water + cleaning fluid. They got nice... When it still had a little bit of water inside all the speed were going well, but after it all was dry the speed got bad once again. I put again a bit of oil, but it still doesnt do speed above 60/125...
I wonder what is wrong.. maybe it is not the capacitors.. I think the problem might really be on the shutter blades that need some kind of lubbing that doesnt hold them.
I ask your opinion after my experiences...
Thanks!

Thank yuo very much for the nice link/help dear Martin!
I still am a bit confused because some of them have only one colour and a dot... and some others i dont know wich colour is first...
But that leads me to another question... is it really truth that these condensers command the shutter? There is also two transistors and one 6 pin chip on board...
Thanks!

I have been looking for links on minox, and always end up on minoxography.org beeing the best portal for all info on Minox
cameras. Unfortunately i cant access this site...
I was wondering if this is a problem from my ISP or if site is down..
thanks!

Greetings!
I have been told that Minox 35 uses capacitors to do some timmings for
the shutter... since these capacitors grow old, and start acting
strange, they could be the reason why some of our minoxes act always
underexposed, etc etc
I already opened the up part of my Minox 35 gl and there are a few
small capacitors, but their ID is not very clear. They only have one
colour each.
If anyone knows what each colour means, and what is the value of the
capacitors on the Minoxes 35 I would be very thankfull. It wouldnt be
very hard to replace them all, and see if that was part of the
problem.
Thank you very much for any possible help on this one :)

"
Remove some of the dust and dirt that has accumulated in the camera--- Martin Tai has published a few articles on the problem.
Clean the camera and electrical contacts.
Adjust the lightmeter sensor to be "accurate" (there is a tiny pot to adjust this).
Adjust the shutter speed to be "accurate" (a tiny pot, I think, on the camera board).
"
My minox is doing under-exposure so i would like to access these two tiny pots... Can you help me by telling me where they are, and how to adjust / find them?
Thanks, Sergio

Oh one more question on Minox 35, I am now shooting my first film on it, the double stroke film advancing lever makes a lot of strenght to run... I feel like it might brake... Is this comon? Or this should be smooth and easy to turn? Do I have to use oil on something? ehehe
Without film on the camera it didnt take that much strenght to run..
Thanks once again.

Greetings!
I have been messing with the camera and have some news:
I opened the up part of the camera, looking for some short ou other thing that wouldnt be very nice, and spoted that there is a bad contact.. when i press a bit the up part of the machine down, the needle starts working well, the 2X also works and the battery test also!
Since I didnt want to dissasemble all the camera, i just scratched all the contacts i saw, and put a bit of insulation tape on the side where i needed to press for it to work fine.
It is on the side of that little dinamo that controls the needle... I believe the possible bad contact is behind that, but i am not sure how to get there... How can i take the PC board up? I only saw one screw, but unscrewing it didnt get pc board loose... I guess it is attached to the viewfinder.
Any of you experienced users of minox has a howto on how to dissasemble that part of the camera? Some photos would also be very very nice :)
Meanwhile I re-assembled the up part (with the insulating tape making pressure) and it is working aparently fine... It is working nice now, but since there is a bad conection, this might not last that long :(
I believe this might be a good time to try out some film, and see what are the results.. Shutter is firing fine even at 500 speed, and i guess it doesnt shoot only if you get it really very very much underexposed (a lot after the needle gets the top). dont know if this is normal on all machines..
I also put a drop of blade oil on the right part of the shutter blades release, hope it helps the mechanism work nice, but i found it to be very clean, no dust or sand or anything like that inside of it.. Guess this camera has seen a lot of years on a drawer ehe
Thanks for any answer in advance :)

Greetings dear photographers!
I have bought a Minox 35 GL from ebay, and it is a bit faulty... Since
I saw similar posts on this Minox Forum and some with some similar
problems i decided to post it here, I hope I dont make too much
trouble or take too much of your time :)
My Minox has 2 different problems:
1st: Shutter doesnt seem to open at high speeds... Until around 200 it
shoots well, after that the small levers that command the shutter
work, but it doesnt seem to open (I see no light throught the lens).
At lower speeds it works alright..
- I opened the camera, and it is quite clean for a used camera, i
shoot the camera around 400 times tonight to see if it was a problem
of sticking shutter, but it didnt change much...
2nd problem: Meter needle doesnt work if i dont put the "2x"
compensation button on.. Without that button on i dont get light
reading neither do i get a battery test. If i put it on, the battery
test works alright, and the meter too (with the compensation ofc).
Now to trick all of this: If I shoot the camera with 2x off, i get the
shutter to work until around 250 speed. If I have 2X on, I dont get
shutter to work higher than 125 or maybe less... Doesnt sound logic,
does it?
I have opened the camera, so I am not very afraid of trying things,
but was just wondering if you got to any real conclusions on yours,
and if you can help me repairing my lovely 35GL ...
Thank you very very much, and sorry for disturbing...
