This was a quick shot in the living room with a 50mm f/1.8 that had

just arrived in the mail. I'm working on focusing quickly with a wide

    open aperture.

Great shot. The photo made me laugh and wonder what was going on or if there was a story behind the pose.

    I like it a lot!

An interesting image giving an unusual perspective. I think I would like to see the people in front in focus and the spectator out.

    Keep up the good work!

I shot this with and without a vignette but I think I prefer with.

Also, the steps weren't deep enough to move the bride so my upward

angle (required by the hill I was shooting on) emphasizes the hem of

    her dress.

    Your help/critique is appreciated.

I think this photo would benefit from a tighter crop. It seems that the photo is about the couple in a beautiful setting with overhanging trees, but the trees take up about 25% of the negative and the couple maybe 6% while the concrete takes up about 45%.

Maybe shooting the same scene with a long telephoto to compress the trees and set the couple among them with a a tighter crop and slightly different angle to get rid of the concrete in the foreground.

I'm not a pro so I don't know if the above suggestion would help a lot or not but that is what I would try.

A really nice photo. Well lit and a beautiful setting. I think I might like it a little better if they were actually kissing, looks either a 1/2 second early or a 1/2 second late, but it really works regardless.

I'm sure the couple will be really pleased.

  1. I think the hand-holding is to blame. As suggested a faster shutter at 400 ISO or use a tripod. Personally since this is outdoors I would be trying to shoot it with a tripod, faster speed film (sensor), and less flash (the shadow is distracting) or use a flash bracket to keep the flash centered.
