durant_axton 0 Posted August 10, 2004 I welcome all suggestions. I shot this image at 4:30 pm in the shade. I used fill flash and hand-held all of the shots. None of the images seem to be tack-sharp. Help... What should I have done? Canon 10D 28-135 550 flash f/5.6 1/60 sec iso 200 Link to comment
bekster 0 Posted August 10, 2004 Nice photo, good light on the people, maybe another light for the background... Link to comment
dwm1953 0 Posted August 10, 2004 It struck me as I looked at the large size image that the horizontals were more blurred than the verticals. This being the case the out-of-focus problem is really a camera shake problem. Shooting this scene at ISO 400 and 1/125 sec would have helped, or using one of Canon's excellent IS lenses would be an even better solution. As to the image at hand, this very nice scene would be enhanced with a tighter crop and possibly going b&w, like so... Link to comment
bekster 0 Posted August 10, 2004 I would not crop this... Its a nice composition with the girl in pink... Link to comment
geoffcauble 0 Posted August 11, 2004 I think the hand-holding is to blame. As suggested a faster shutter at 400 ISO or use a tripod. Personally since this is outdoors I would be trying to shoot it with a tripod, faster speed film (sensor), and less flash (the shadow is distracting) or use a flash bracket to keep the flash centered.
