  1. I am in the same position you are; I just purchased a Leica M6 titanium and Summilux

35mm titanium lens. I am having a great time getting to know the camera and shooting

many different situations. Your photographs look great and it looks like you are off to a

    great start. Enjoy the kit.<div>00F1ob-27793784.jpg.ead0093860fd841a76f62a8da7a85874.jpg</div>

  2. Great stories and great photographs.

Thanks Johnny for the information, I understand the physics of the lens and the

magification of sun that it could direct on the shutter. I hope never have to experience

    trouble that expensive.

  3. Ray, that was a major concern of mine when I took the camera to the slopes. I kept it very

protected by wrapping it in a down jacket and putting it in a backpack. I only kept the

camera on me for an hour or so and then I took it back to the car. Plus, I have great skiing

experience but that still has not kept from falling now and then.

    Thanks for your comment

  4. This was the first roll of slide film that I shot with my Leica M6 Titanium w/ Summilux

35mm Titanium. I have only been shooting with the camera for about a month now and

have had amazing results. The purchase of the camera was defiantly worth it.

Lets see your most amazing photographs that made you thankful of the Leica you

    purchased.<div>00Ezcw-27735584.jpg.f9c591bd2483ac3da9c281bc91751e55.jpg</div>

  5. I have had my Leica M6 titanium with Summilux f1.4/35mm lens for about a month now

and here are a few of my favorite photographs that I have managed to take so far. The

Leica is a very enjoyable camera and I am pleased with the feel of it. I have much to learn

and would welcome any comments. Thanks for your time. Enjoy.

  6. Hello to all,

I have just purchased a Leica M6 with Summilux 35mm for Christmas. I am looking for any

opinions on what b&W negative film works well for street photography. I have looked at

Kodak Tri-X Pan, is this what I need?

I will also be traveling out west to ski in a week; what color slide film would be best for my

Leica while shooting in these conditions (ex. white snow)? I have used Kodak's line of E100

film before, will this work well?

    Thanks for your opinions.

    Happy Holidays,

  7. Thanks to all who have made helpful comments and suggestions, they are helping in my

    decision of what to purchase.

Mark, I did reference the B&H website when I first posted. I see what you mean in B&H's

listing of that lens. I see it is listed the way you have it in the Leica Handbook. Thanks for

    your help.

Mig Mig, I apologize for being a med student and wanting to shoot street photography. I

guess you know my life pretty well considering the time we have spent together on this

posting. I am an Eagle Scout too, I guess if you would of told me "You're a student, for

G*d's sake... when are you going to find time to go out and get your Eagle Scout?" I would

of just quit Scouting. Truth is, I find a balance between schoolwork and photography.

School is stressful and photography is a way for me to relax and retune.

I feel like that everyone who has commented on this posting of mine was doing so to help

a first time Leica user. On the other hand, your posting did nothing to help a first time

Leica user, it only criticized those of us who seek useful information and a setting in which

Leica photographers can relate to one another. Honestly, I have enjoyed the help I have

been receiving on this website. If the people here want to use Leica vocabulary such as,

"Summicron," then I support that because it helps me to understand what the person is

referencing to. In that matter, this posting has educated me on Leica and what to

purchase. As soon as I start making salary at the hospital, I will be sure to go into my

camera shop and unload a few grand. Not that this is going to make me a better

photographer, but then again I was already trying to do so on this posting and you

    criticized it.

With that said, I do respect your right to express you feelings on the forums of this

website. Please fill free to take your own arguments that you have expressed here in my

    posting and make your own.

    Thanks for your time,

    Blake Dennis

  8. I know a similar question to this was asked earlier this week, but I would like to know what

lens to buy first if I have a Leica M6 TTL 0.58? First, I only want to buy a Leica made lens.

Second, I am a med student and photography is a hobby for me; a lens below $1500 is

preferred. Third, I will be shooting street photography, so nothing above a 50mm. I have

looked at the Leica Normal 50mm f/2.8 Elmarit because of its price, but I feel like I may

not get the full experience of Leica optics with this lens. Am I correct? Does this lens

compare to the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8? Last, I am looking to experience Leica cameras and

optics to a maximum without "breaking the bank."

I have never shot with a rangefinder camera I have only used SLRs. I currently own a Nikon

D1h, F100, and old Nikormat. I am excited to shoot b&w and slide film. Is Leica the right

    choice?

Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for your time

  9. The camera and lens are both in mint condition. Only a few rolls of film have been in the

camera and it contains all caps and manuals. The lens does not have caps or a case. Both

    pieces are the titanium editions.

Does this help access the value?

    Thanks

  10. Hello,

I am looking at a Leica M6 titanium body and a titanium SUMMILUX-M 35mm/f1.4. The

body has all original packaging including manuals and strap. The lens does not have any

packaging or manuals. Both are the titanium versions. The body is a 1993 model and the

lens is 1994. Both pieces have been tracked by Leica and are NOT stolen.

Can anyone please help me place a value on these two pieces together? Any information

    would help.

    Thanks
