Thanks again Mr Vivek Iyer for your help , I just bought the adaptor on e bay.
I really like the old 85 mm 2:0 and 50 mm 1,5 from zeiss ikon.
When the new ZI will be at a good price I dream to continue Zeiss Ikon aventure...

Thanks Vivek I was writing my e mail when you sended yours.

On e bay johnluk63 is selling an adapter for either contarex and one for contax lenses to use
them on a leica M. At first sight i think it can be uses for the new ZI.... but want to be sure as
such adapter is not cheap !!
-
I see that the brand new zeiss ikon has an M mount for Leica lenses.
I own beautiful 50 mm and 85 mm lenses for contax II a.
Could I put them on the ZI ? Does an adapter exist ?
If so what would be the name for this adapter ?
I have seen on for contarex lenses on e bay. But contarex doe not have the same mount as a
contax IIa.
To summarize: which lenses would the new ZI accept ?
Thanks for your thoughts...

At the end the Ikoflex c was so cheap ... So I'll compare ....

I changed my mind today and bought on e bay a Rolleiflex 3.5 f with xenotar taking lens.
And now I stop buying cameras and keep my money for travelling and making pictures I
swear !

Ikoflex Ic is so cheap , I think I' ll buy one as first TLR experience.
So i'll have an opinion using it.

Tom,
Which tripod do you use ?
-
I see that a super ikonta and the Ikoflex Ic both have the 75 mm 3,5 tessar lens.
I do not have a TLR.
What would be advantages or disadvantages for choosing TLR against folding solution ?
-
The question is in the title. It seems that Ikoflex like this one are less expensive than the
Rollei. Why ? Is the reputation of Rollei (like Leica vs Zeiss) giving a justified advantage to the
Rollei ?
What do you think about Ikoflex Ic ? A good camera ? Or just for Ikon fans ?
The main use would be portrait. Is the Rolleiflex 3,5 with Xenotar lens a lot better ?

Thanks for your expertise. Have a nice Sunday !

This looks as a superb B & W "aquarelle" !! How have you done this.
Which Ikoflex have you bought ?

Mr Budding, do you think that all the coated contax zeiss 8,5 cm 2.0 would fit on a Contax IIa
or IIIa.
My point was that the seller Leicashop in Vienna has 5/ 6 8,5 cm 2.0 zeiss contax lenses for
contax and on the site he says one out of these is for contax IIa or IIIa.
So it seems that not all these lenses can go nicely on the contax IIa or IIIa.
I do not know if I say it correctly as my mothertongue is not english.

Looking at the site leicashop I have seen different 8,5 f 2.0 contax lenses and only one for
contax IIa or IIIa.
I thought that all these lenses would go on a contax III a or II a.
It seems NO. Do you know why ?
Regards
I know that 3,5 cm jupiter cannot go on contax IIa or III a

Gene,
You are right the mirror is fallen.
Is it easy to repair ?

I have recently bought an old vitessa 1.
Is it possible that the first vitessa did not have a coupled rangefinder ?
It seems to be no double image for focusing as for example the contax IIa.

You know , this camera I just bought on e bay and I am waiting for it to comme from russia...
Reading your comments it gets even more appetizing ...
When I oooked at the picture on e bay it seemed that the leather skin was flat (pas de grain),
why is it so ?
Sorry fo my bad belgian english !!
PS it is zorky 1 from soviet souvenirs (very cheap) nr 425519
-
Tanks It is a 1D produced in 1953.

I recently bought a Zorki 1 nr 425519. with industar lens. Would some expert on photonet
know what kind of Zorki 1 that is and when was it produced ?
Thanks....
-
Would you tell which are the best quality lenses in screwmount to use with my brand old
zorki 1 ?
-
Industar 58 goes with Iskra and Industar 24 goes to Moskva 5.
I d like to know the opinions on the qualities/weakness from these 2 lenses; and which one is
best ?
How do they compare ?
-
Hello Doug, I fully agree with you. And it is no use to have many cameras ...
But today I saw in a shop in Bruxelles for 2799 euros the 645 contax kit with 80 mm 2.8 and
for the same price the Mamiya 6 but with three lenses... I am not planning to buy for the
moment..but just improve a little bit my knowledge in this new world...

I have some contaxes IIa, IIIa and a Kiev 4.
All are excellent and with the 50 mm1,5 it gives great coulours. For shooting in the street
it is great, a contax does not take much place in a big pocket. If you want to shoot sports
not the best choice.
My choice: for the low price a kiev 4 from soviet camera 90$, a contax with collapsible
lens would cost around 350 $ but take care havind hood to prevent flare or the one with
the 50 mm 1,5.<div></div>
