  1. Yes I think Im just going to go buy a new lens at this time. Like I said I have been pleased with the XTI. And I do notice a change just in when I put my zoom lens on compared to the small one that I juse used from my other camera...so yeh theres a lens that I found the other day, which is probably the exact one you are talking about, so I think I will just look into that...thanks so much you guys for your advice...Amanda
  2. Well I really have been pleased with the XT honestly. I just thought maybe there was a next step out there that was even better in quality and clarity. Basically to where I wouldn't have to do alot of editing so to speak. Like I looked at a 5D I believe and it just seemed so much clearer. I think its the lens I have on my XT that I just dont like, just cause it was actually the lens that came on my basic camera (film) when I bought the XT I just got the body since I was able to interchange the lenses...anyway hope this helps a bit.
  3. Hey guys, In the next few weeks I am looking to buy a new camera. These first 2

years of shooting, I have been shooting with a Digital Canon Rebel XT. I guess

the beginner version so to speak as I see how many there are out there now. I

just want everyones opinion on what the best one is to get next. Of course at

this point I don't want to spend a fortune but I dont want to get one thats

basically the same thing as the XT. I do prefer to stay in the Canon Family

since I have a good bit of lenses that I can switch around with. So just let me

know what you think. I shoot mainly weddings if that helps you. I have the

occasional family portrait but really just want something thats fast, clear,

and just an all around great quality. Give me your thoughts please. Thank you!

  4. Thank you so much! I just asked a question under Digital where I got feedback like why would I shoot something thats like once in a lifetime without knowing what I was doing? I was having questions about the quality settings...and then came across yours. I have alot to learn with my camera, but its like I told this one guy, my first wedding I shot, turned out great, and well I didnt mess with any of the settings because of that reason. So when I go to ask one simple question of is there one better than the other in order to not have so much editing afterwards, I get harped on. I want advice, but people on here can be so cruel at times. Ya know? Anyways thank you for putting this out there. Take Care!!
  5. Hi, not sure if I am in the right place. I am in need of an extra flash for my

camera. I use a Canon Digital EOS, in some cases the built in flash is fine.

But in some cases, I need a little extra. Do yall have any ideas of what I

should look for? I shoot alot of weddings, and in some cases, when I mess in

photoshop with the lighting, it can start to look really bad. I am wanting to

take pictures, and the lighting be the best it can be without much editing.

Let me know what you think. Thanks!

  7. Ok let me try this again, my computer froze up on me before. Anyways I wanted to say that I agree with Amanda above. If you have a uniqueness about your work then thats what captures ALOT of people's eye. I have been in this business for about a year now, and have done probably 10 weddings. And I will have to tell you , I do alot of the candid shots, just cause I think those are the best kind. They do tell a story, and thats what the brides ALWAYS come back and say. No, to you (the photographer) all of your shots arent going to be perfect, but to others they are. You just have to keep trying new techniques and you will be surprised, with just little things, how that can change a picture. If you look at my page, I do, do alot of the posed shots...but for the majority of the pictures, they are candid, capturing the real emotion of their day. And well just having fun. Have fun with the bride, and their familes...it makes the whole experience that much more enjoyable. I love what I do and I love bringing pictures to life. I don't have the best work in the world. I've seen some of the people's pages on here, and its like WOW...but for being in this for a year. I think both you and I have a great start. Everyone starts somewhere and I think if the bride is happy, and their family, then thats all that matters. Sure we want feedback, to help us where they feel, but you know to one person something might be terrible, and to another the same picture might be PERFECT....you really especially on here, don't let those average scores, or 3's heck even 2's bring you down, when you have a photo rated. Cause as I said to someone else it may be a 7. I was really letting that get me down. Cause everytime I do a wedding, I will post some new pics to be critiqued and I would always get 4's and it just bugged me. But then the next day I would get a call from the bride just going on and on about the pictures how wonderful they are...so you keep on going, and growing with your business. It will become a success. You just have to get your name out there, and when they love you, your name will get passed around. Its awesome, I have weddings lined up all through June as of now and thats good enough for me. So good luck!! Take a look at my work. You will find yeh, I am the average photographer, but I take pride in what I do and enjoy it, I have fun with it and thats what counts!! Take care!
  8. I had a wierd question from one of my brides. She wants to know what

dimensions I use when I take pictures? How do I figure that out? I never heard

this before? Please respond asap! Thanks!

  9. Ok this might be the most dumbest question ever, but I am new at

this. I am trying to see if I am reading some of these answers

right, ok so say you go in the store and buy a box of film....after

you've taken the pictures and its rewinded, can you remove the film

part out of the container?? The part that looks like the negatives??

I am asking, because I have a scanner that you can use your

negatives, so I was curious, if this was the same aspect. Like I

said I am new at this, and just trying new things, so if you can get

into these things please let me know and HOW! Thanks!
