But I'm still looking for one here. Australia Epson don't stock the V750. Any other suggestions for the scanners? I'm looking for exhibition quality. Obviously not at expensive at a flextight.

im currently in hong kong and about to head home and i want to buy a scanner.
I originally had the idea of buying the Epson 750 pro scanner but cannot seem to find it anywhere! (yet)
I found one today that looked interesting but im reading some good and bad things about it, its the HP scanjet G4050.

Can you advise me please if you have any experience with any or both to help my decide,
Also, if you happen to know where in hong kong i could find one that would be ideal! :)

Hi there,
I'm stopping by Berlin for 3 days and Budapest for 3 days... I was wondering if
anyone can recommend me a pro-lab to develop (only) my medium format black and
white and slide film. I need a quick turn-over period and I am hoping for
somewhere close to the center. And I want good results!!!!
I (emotionally) cannot handle anymore risky jobs like I had in Belgrade.
Thank you!!!

I've just arrived to Amsterdam and I'm looking for direction...
here are a few questions:
1) can anyone reccomend me a good lab? i need a black and white AND a colour-
ive noticed there are a couple of labs which work with either BW or colour..
any who do both? I would like to see which areas in amsterdam have labs
2) same thing about darkrooms? know any darkrooms? a good shop that sells
paper? - the cheapest possible.
3) any tips to finding a job around here to do with photography?
that's enough questions for now.
thankssss,
Nav

i freaked out because i thought it was fungus.
does the 'sensor cleaning' option they talk about not have anything to do with the 30D and a dust free life? for example, the 400D, is advertised with a sensor cleaner- i thought i had one too
-
i dont get why though, because I never change my lens.
I am in a very dusty country at the moment.. but how does it get in there?
ps thanks for replies

I'm freaking out.
Spots are appearing on my photographs. the same spots are appearing and I've
even noticed that I'm getting more and more. I've cleaned my lens several
times.
My lens in 17-40mm EF and the body is Canon 30D.
I have attached a photo where ive circled the spots. please tell me if you
have any idea what they are because ive taken it to a shop and they told me im
going crazy and seeing things but im clearly not.
thanks for your help

I'm just about to start backpacking and i want to get one of those photobank
or photobooks- im not sure what its called, to store my RAW files during my
travels.
Which product (brand name + product name) do you reccommend? I actually didn't
know they even existed so I have no idea which to get. I know there are heaps
out there but I am not sure if they all read RAW and if they are relieble.
This is for my Canon 30D.
I'm already into my travels. I'm currently in Israel and will be heading to
Europe soon so hopefully I can get a decent product.
Thanks!!!!!

btw, the customer is using the photos for a business promotion- unsure of budget.

Okay,
I've just been asked by someone to buy 4 of my live music photography shots
(of a pretty big international band) and this is something I've only just
started doing but I don't want this to think this because the photos are
great.
The thing is, they want to buy the image file- and I'm just SO confused on
these three questions
a) how much do I charge?
b) how big of a file do I send them? (the original file is 20mb)
c) how do I protect my copyright?
Okay so I know the photographer I used to work for would charge AUS$250 per
file, but I'm thinking is this too much and will this scare them away? I dont
want to lose this customer. In the same time I dont want to be ripped off, so
perhaps I should sell them as prints?
help! asap!

yeh i picked it up because all of my lenses are wide so i figured itll be cool to try out a macro incase i like it.. but yep, a waste of money it is. ill just sell it on ebay.
-
thanks the your answers...
my father is stopping by in hong kong in 2 weeks- so ive asked him to buy me the camera and filters ... let me know if any of you might think this is a bad idea. hehe
-
I picked up a mint condition Hanimex macro (80-200mm) lens today at the
markets today. Its physically perfect-mint condition however i took it to a
camera store who said that it is only good for a fujica camera.... WTF?! does
anyone know anything about this brand?
have i totally wasted my time or is there a chance someone might want to buy
it off me... because i cant seem to use it on a canon slr.
cheers

hey, i was just wondering if anyone knows of a good place to buy holga sutff
for cheap in australia?!
i know there's a shop that sells the latest plastic model at $130, but i cant
help thinking its alot to pay since in the states its retailed at $30 bucks?!
unfortuneatly not even amazon.com want to ship cameras here.
WE ARE NOT THAT FAR AWAY!
dammit.
help anyone?

sorry incase i made no sense, by 100 ISO feel I meant a softer feel which represents film quality :)
-
when you buy the camera, you will recieve a program to process your RAW files. when you select your image and decide to edit, you will have a 'sharpening' option. Depending on the look you're going for, the sharpening tool will only give your image a 'digital' feel- where as if you leave it unsharpened you will get a 100 ISO feel- or whatever iso you shot at.

hello all,
im using my Zoombrowser program which I got with my canon 30D to
edit/size/convert my RAW images. I realized that when choosing 16 bit files at
2000 dpi of adobe rgb yadda yadda, the biggest printing size i can get is 11x7
inch (at 300dpi) whats the story? - is there some way i can have my image
larger without compensating quality? I'm wanting to print at A2- which is
double what i've currently got!

hahahahah! john stafford you are hilarious. you camera comedian you.

I recently bought a super duster (from MG chemicals) ($20 for air!) to clean
my 4L series lens. The can does not come with a lid, yet comes with an
attachable thin straw to be used during spraying. After walking away from the
shop the thought occured to me 'I wonder if storage of this item will lead to
dust sneaking into the straw or duster head therefore resulting of the straw
spraying dust instead of dust free air'. This though came to me because
recently, my hurricane blower was used to clean my lens and instead resulted
in blowing dirt and dust onto my lens. (me was unhappy). I dont want this to
happen with this new duster so i've been keeping it in a plastic bag- though i
dont know if this is a good idea incase it creates moisture in the filter head.
I know I'm probably over-analyzing the situation but I dont want to do
anything silly that might result in stress.
The duster sits in my bedroom (UPRIGHT!) in a plsatic bag.
what do you think? Anyone as paranoid as me?
