  1. Thanks guys for your response, I think I'll stick to the Canon, but it's nice hearing other people's comments.

The Canon lens did seem allot lighter, so I'd say, with low noise levels at high ISO speeds (on my 20D) & IS (in low light), you'd have to go for the Canon, that's where it would be much more beneficial.

    Can't wait now!

  2. Money is not the big problem here (price difference between the 2

lenses), it's only a small problem.

Yesterday I was lucky enough to find both the Canon & Sigma Lenses

at Jessops in Dublin, and they had a 20D in stock (my camera). So I

was lucky enough to play with both lenses, although the Sigma was a

Nikon fit, I obviously could only hold the lens.

I know the Sigma would not be as good a lens as the Canon, but I

loved the lens when I held it, although it's heavier than the Canon,

    I just really liked it.

The Canon Lens is much lighter, and although it was the 1st time I

used a push/pull lens, I found it very easy to manually focus that

way. Just push and focus or pull, and focus.

Is there any one that has used both the lenses extensively and has

    pictures to compare or advice.

I've probably already decided on the Canon, anyone selling second

    hand?
