1.
Go full frame: swap your Nex7 for an A7 and to hell with Lens Turbos!

 2.
I've gone the same way and could not be happier: A7 and lots of dumb adapters for Canon FD, Contax C/Y, Olympus OM, Rollei QBM, Leica R. Planning to add some M42 in the future.
The IBIS of the new A7II is an interesting proposition and if I were to buy a camera today, I would go for that one instead of the A7... means there are probably lots of good opportunities on second-hand A7 bodies!
;-)

 3.
The bower adaptor on the EOS SLR has a lens to correct the registration issue (FD is shorter than EOS). This adaptor (and all its ilk) is very bad in general, and absolutely unusable with fast lenses.
Try the same lens on a Sony A7 with a good adapter and there is no such problem. Not to say that every FD glass is perfect on digital, but some a real good. My 2/24 is superb, so are the 1.2/55 Asph and the 1.2/85L, the 80-200L is outstanding, etc.
Some feel better on digital, for example the 2.8/200IF looks better than on film, and some are less convincing, like my 2/28. Go figure!

 4.
I remember Chasseur d'Images tested the 80-200L and 100-300L, both were outstanding. The 80-200L was described as the first zoom that's better than all equivalent fix lenses! The 100-300L was not exactly at the same level, but still excellent.
I never really considered the 100-300L because of the aperture, but I got me a 80-200L as soon as I switched from Minolta to Canon!
