1.
I have 16-35, 24-70 (never use), 70-200, 85 F1.8 and 24 F1.4.
70 percent of all I use wide angle zoom, then since I got 85 started to use that for portraist insetad of 70-200 and for details both 24 anf 85, when I know I will not need 70-200 I leave it at home...

 2.
Thanx for all input.
24-70 stays behind is this focal distance doesnt work for me.
Im either very close, or little bit away.
Also, I should have writen, that I reguraly use 300 F2,8 lens, so Im familiar with it even when used for portrairs.
What I was looking for difference in bokeh and colour.
With the 85mm lens I will me shooting at F2.0, 2.2 and with the 300mm ar F3.5 for single person, will stop down when taking pix of a couple.
Thanx again.

 3.
Hello everyone,
I have 2 bodies now, 5D mkII and 40D and a number of lenses: 16-35 F2.8, 24mm F1.4, 85mm F1.8 and the zoom 70-200 F2.8... (im not mentioning 24-70 that stays always behind...).
Also, there is a company 300 F2.8 that Im about to use for portraits.
I used to take portraits with the 70-200 zoom, then when I got t 85mm F1.8 I hardly use my zoom.
Now, how do perform the 85 vs 300 when taking portraits?
Im talking about a single person and a couple starting at 18.30pm, sun sets at 20.45.
Will have flash and a bounce board available.
Thanks for inputs, pictures are welcome.

 4.
GungaJim and Richard, the whole thing has been canceled.
Misscommunication between the management and the owners of the company :(
I was sitting at the Kyrgyz embassy in Vienna and got a call from the office to come back... no pictures to show, may be next time...
We had an article from there - all pictures taken from agencies and no in dept story at all.

 5.
Yeah, always common sense... no bullet-proof vest.
Also, I think that U r not supposed to be an official reporter. As press is most likely not welcome.
I might be very wrong as I have never been there.

 6.
Hello,
Im a pro working for a weekle and me and my colleague are heading to Osh on Tuesday.
Will land in Bishkek via Isnatbul and then will hire a driver and a car will travel down to Osh.
Anyone who is in the area or been there before? Or any other photographers with war/civil war or conflict with shooting experience?
I follow the news and check pictures on getty, Im trying to estimate the level of danger and possibility of getting into the area as someone already said that has been closed.
All war/conflict tips welcome. So far I shot only tear gas demonstration.
Thanks.

 7.
Im uploading a picture after a while.
Taken with 40D and 24mm F1.4, when I took this one, I was really glad, thought it is a very good picture, now after seeing it in the PC I have mixed feelings. This image is from a RAW file. B&D just enter the reception area.
All comments are welcome.

00WKeJ-239479684.jpg.6dfb91bf8bc5234f03c946e31f217bbd.jpg

 8.
Bueh, what is the definition of bulleye.
Is it considered to be a fault, unwanted sign in pictures such as lens flare?
I took some pix for a photo bank (cakes and decortation) at F1.4 and then mostly was at F1.6 or F1.8...
Thanx for input again.

 9.
Hello, I will be doing a wedding soon and I managed to get hold of 24mm lens F1.4 (version one) and I wonder for people shots, what would be desired F number?

Also I use 85mm F1.8 and I usually shoot with F2.2 that works for me pretty well.
Also, on my 40D I have EFS 17-55, that leaves my 16-35 F2.8 at home and also, leaving at home 70-200 F2.8 IS.
I would like to try to shoot mostly with the 24 and 85 lens. Ceremony with the 17-55 though.
Thankx for input.
