1.
Hello,
I have not been posting here for a while. Curious what will come up.
I dumped my old domain and created a new one - the person who registerded the domain did it unders his name, so I was not the owner and he would change the status.
Previoulsy my images were watermarked in 2 corners, bottow right and left. (see image)
Different opacity in every image, long manual process in PS. I tried lightroom, as it could be faster, but was not happy with the result.
With the new web site to speed up the process, I created a white backboard with watermak on the bottom, sliglty larger and then just place image over, save and redo the process again and again, without fiddleing with placing watermark.
Also, in the bottom left corner there will be my new logo.
Possibly, the text on the bottom right can be all black, or with reduced oppacity.
Any thoughts? Thank you.

There is a software called EOS something that once installed and connected to the camera tells U how many times U pressed your shutter, ah well, I will repost this again when I will be at 300.000 or so.
Happy shooting,
3.
Hello,
how many pictures have you taken so far on your Canon 5D mk2?
Im at 176.000 (over 3 and a half years), recently got a small problem with a button inside a dial circle, it would not pop up to its original position and I was told that the whole back of the camera needs to be replaced, 122 EURO in total.
Also, person at the service center mentioned that they had someone with the same body who took 750.000 pictures and his shutter was still ok, not fix or replaced.
Given that, I should be fine for another may be 4-5 years? I wish...

  5.
Hello,
I have a pricing question.
Recently, I was approached by a developer who is in the building phase of an outlet outside of the city. They want me to take pictures every two weeks. I have to drive there and take pictures – they need them for potential clients that they can see that the building is going on and it would be a safe investment.
The person I’m in contact with is pretty useless, over a month we were unable to meet in person to discuss the deal, but as I was driving by I took a few test shots with a polarizer and nice sunny conditions, retouched pictures and send them over with a watermark all over, so they cant use images.
I had a phone call and I know that they are interested, now the question is to agree on price.
From their history they do business in millions of Euros, huge projects, so they must have cash.
Driving by car there and back is 60km total, work there, retouching, it all might sound simple, but it can occur that showing up at the site, it might take a while for the sun to come out…
What would anyone of you guys charge for a job like this? Im not sure how times they want me to do so, but it can last till September I believe.
I have to deliver at around 20 pictures every two weeks?
Thanks and regards,
Martin

  6.
Hey Jacob,
you mention awards and I found quite many!
Congrats and well done, U must have been on the scene for quite a while.
Im having difficulties navigating with back button, images jump forward even though I stopped the slide show.
I like thumbnails either on the left or bottom of the page.
Relly cool image of a couple and 2 children on the beach and the castle in the background!
Last image in gallery 2 is very nice but little bit too much rtx...
Keep it up!

  7.
Matt,
Thanks for ur in depth comment!
First thing first.
Clarifying the subject - event photography, workshops, behind the scenes (not printing), blog pictures yes, also press conferences, not executive portraits (these are better paid jobs i know)
Im negotiating one potential client, it is a real estate company that is keen on the local market. Agree on prepaid, hardly likely.
The sum 3000 was a figure and I was not thinking doing 8 hour jobs.
These conditions vary, we all know.
Thanks again for opening eyes, but let me ask you, how do you personally operate?

  8.
Hello everyone.

This post is about experience and, yes pricing too.
The idea is to propose a one year contract to large companies which need a photographer from time to time and would prefer to use just one photographer for all jobs - long term relationship.
Ideally, 10 jobs a year lets say for 3000E.
3000E would be paid in 2 payments, all on invoice.

Does anyone works like this?
How many jobs under how much money would be ok.
I dont want to work for peanuts and I’m trying to find out if this scenario at least works.
Thanks and regards,
Martin

  9.
Joe, quite a few questions and concerns here. Let me answer a few of them.
I have both the 40D and 5D M2 and I personally think that the difference between these 2 bodies is huge - performance, AF and most importantly quality of the chip when - we are talking about the final result - print.
As far as the print, I think you would be fine with 40D as well (printing larger images). However, anything you shoot with 5D M2, will have more detail and can look (landscape) more eye appealing to your eye. Im not sure how much of PS work you do, but almost everything that comes out my camera is very good.
You will certainly loose that grain when shooting at ISO 800 on 40D, with MK2 U can do ISO 1600 and be happy, often even 3200 ISO is ok, depending on the subject.
Once, in 2006 I traveled in Thailand and I had only 35mm camera with the same lens you have and surely 50mm lens didnt work for me when doing landscape.
All the best,
Martin

  10.
I had a look at al 3, I like the getparade the best, I chose even my own design.
However, dont feel like paying montly... I have my regostered domain for 3 years now, just cant finish retouch my own pictures for teh web... however, one of their designs is really cool, simple, may be U can search more, somwhere else and buy a template...

  11.
Hello,
I have been using Canon soft Digital photo professional and I wonder how many others use this soft for converting RAW files info jpegs (and then into PS).
That is my workflow, after selecting files I will retouch, first I convert RAWs into jpegs using DPP by Canon and then jpegs are retouched in Photoshop... anyone else with similar experience?
What do U like and dont like about Canon's soft, thanks...
