Mine is in my pocket, I find the leash cumbersome especially when the wind blows.

I just tried it out and indeed you can but now in LR2 you have to set up a smart collection, or use Library Filter(Ctrl L). In LR1 there was a Metadata Browser that was better IMHO.

I think you can filter by lens in Lightroom.

I'd contact Tokina they make very good lenses and they may have a firmware upgrade for your lens, for the new camera.

I use to a lot with my Tokina 12-24 before I fell in the creek with it. Now I'm thinking about the Sigma 10-20 what do folks that have used one think about that lens?

Putting it in a large zip lock bag will let it warm up quicker and not pull in the humidity from the air, maybe also put in some desiccant packs for a little extra protection.

I goggled Dark Adapter and can't find it please post a link. Maybe you should hook up a older CRT monitor (people are trying to give them away these days) to your laptop and use something like this http://tft.vanity.dk/ to calibrate/check with. I find a CRT easier to see at most any angle. I would start with putting my display settings back to factory specs.

hope this helps,
I include the sun in a lot of my pictures, I have had no damage, a lot of flairs and spots but the sensor is still OK.
Would an eclipse be any different? I don't know, but this sure has been fun to watch.
On the other hand I don't as a rule use the live view feature. I guess I just haven't gotten used to it or even tried it much, it seams like there was a lag of some sort?
I suppose the question is. If you use live view and leave the sensor exposed for a long period during the eclipse will that cause damage to it?
Sorry I don't have an answer, Maybe we could get an answer from a Nikon tech.? I'm sure there's one on here some where.

Thanks guys.
I should have went into more detail about my treatment, so far I have removed every cover possible
and the battery and mem card,, popped up the flash, then let it set on the dash of my RV with the defrost blowing
while traveling down the road. Later I let it lay on the floor between the seats where it gets warm. All this to
dry it out. I didn't have the forethought or patience to cover the lens mount opening so I had a mess to clean
out later.
The camera is working fine other than the aperture problem. It was fresh water in a creek and not all that much
of that, IE: the film/sensor chamber wasn't flooded.
The lenses (Tokina 12-24,Tamron 28-70mm 2.8, Sigma 70-210mm 2.8) are a different story though. it appears every
element in each has water on them.
Right now they are in ziplocks to keep the water from drying on the elements while I figure out what to do with
them. I'm thinking I may send them to KEH but probably to their respective manufacturers would be better. But
there again the question is "Will they give trouble later?" is it worth the hassle. I'm dealing with a %&&$#@^
insurance company at the time.
Anyway thanks for the help,
Mikew

Thanks Lex But the Nikon Rep I talked to on the phone was pretty instant that I send the receipt along with it, go figure. I told him it had been wet that didn't seem to matter? I told him I wouldn't be able to get one for a couple of weeks that didn't matter either.
I don't make money with it,it's still just a hobby. It is insured so if it is not repairable so be it I would rather have a new one anyway.
Any help with the original question would be helpful.
Thanks,
Mike

OK so I fell in a creek with my D300 also a couple of other lenses with us *&%$#@. The D300 still works, sort
of. That is if you turn the lens (a dry one) all the way on you get the "Fee" error code like the aperture ring
isn't set even though it is. So to use it manually till I can send it in for repairs (out of town for a couple
more weeks) I put some tape over the AI contacts and told the camera it had a non AI 20mm F2.8 lens attached. I
can use it like that but it always says it's at f32. Is there a way to tell it what f stop I am using or is this
determined only by the leaver that's moved when the aperture is turned?
Thanks in advance!

Do any of you have experience with THK Photo Products repair department ?
I have a Kenko MC7 2X teleconverter that doesn't auto focus on my Nikons I have another that does so I know it
should. The problem I have is trying to get an estimate on the repair cost, I just cant seem to get an answer I'm
sure they must have fixed them before. I'm just trying to keep from getting ripped off or just wasting money on
shipping.
Thanks,
Mike

I had to repair the one I got off EBAD (cold solder joint) after that it works fine with 12v DC or the AC adapter.
-
Two layers of electrical tape will probably be too much just use some plastic like from a blister pack of batteries or the like.
Mike

Yes but IMHO you should get a faster one because you will more than likley want upgrade your camera before long, then the faster card will come in handy.

Hey guys has anyone used these products? In particular the wet & dry, and/or do
you know if it's safe for the D-300 sensor with the tin oxide coating?

At 33 bucks it's cheap enough to experiment with, but what's with the CF type 1 ? Will that work at those speeds? Sounds a little fishy to me.

A while ago I posted "http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=00O3mG"
asking about upgrading the CPU on an old "Tamron 300mm 2.8 SP AF LD IF" so it
will autofocus.
I thought I would let you all know I just got it back from Tamron. The process
took just over 3 weeks. Not only dose it now AF on my D-300 it will AF with my
Kenko 1.5 tele extender and the 2 and 3x as well, although you cant stack them
all at one time.
I am very impressed with the work they've done, not only did they do the CPU
upgrade for $350.00 they done a very through cleaning and replaced a broken
screw on the lens hood. I believe he painted the darn thing, it had scratches
and dings on when I sent it to them. Heck it looks like he even polished the
leather lens cover!
I can't wait to get out and use this thing and put it through it's paces, I
believe it will be well worth the effort.
