  1. <p>Can anyone confirm to me if they were using version 2.2 of spyd2exp?<br>

Their website seems to suggest not using this update with 2.2 or an i reading it incorrectly.<br>

Just got my new machine and step one was calibrate..3 hours later still on step one.</p>

  2. <p>Hi have tried to connect both my 1DS and my 1D to cameras, both mkii to Canon Utility recently without success. I thought it might be my version so I downloaded the latest version from Canon but that did not help.<br>

I am running Vista Home Premium on the computer and both bodies can be seen by the operating system when they are connected to the computer.<br>

    Does anyone have any ideas?</p>

  3. <p>Guys thanks all for your comments. I will let you know how I go..Sports Bikes are great to ride but difficult to carry gear around on..I have not looked in detail at the Adventure Rider forum but it looks an interesting place..</p>
  4. <p>Anyone riding a motorbike and carrying gear? If so what are you using.<br>

I'm riding a Ninja 600 07 model and I'm just carrying a large bag on my back but I really don't like it...It pulls on my back, pushes up into my helmet and if I ever came off...I'd think it would be bye bye..<br>

I'm carrying a fair bit of kit and was thinking of soft panniers but have read about vibration etc so maybe not.<br>

Is there a decent tank bag out there or something?<br>

And is the vibration thing something I should be concerned about?<br>

    Thanks..</p>

  5. <p>I have a ids mk ii and I'm trying to change the personal function 15 (AF_ assist beam turned on/off but I can't for the life of me work out how I can change this setting on the camera. This is not the custom functions (C. Fn) I can change them no problem but the Personal Functions (P.Fn). I have tried all the option of buttons I can think of but can't seem to find anything to change them and I'm beginning to think this can only be changed via software..<br>

Any help in clearing up this issue would be greatly appreciated.</p>

  6. <p>I totally forgot, I shot the Kings of Leon with a fast prime and there was no issue so I think it might be the zoom element that is my weak link..I used a 85 1.2 for the Kings but I think thats too long for a first dance shot something under 50mm would be better, say around 24mm<br>

Fast wide prime...What do people reckon?</p>

  7. <p>I have a 1DS MK II and have just come back from my most recent wedding. I looking over some of the shots in the reception and the first dance, once again is depressing. Once the ambient drops I can not focus with the camera. I have given it to another photographer and he has the same issue but with his 5D MK ii he nail focus in low light every time. It just refuses to lock onto anything for focus.<br>

I had the same problem when I was working as a press photographer, man the winter nights were a case of me focusing on a spot manually setting a flash manually bumping up the ISO and setting am F6 or something so I'd have a small range to grab a few shots.<br>

Its starting to get really frustrating, I really don't want to go out and buy another body, esp just for low light. Even sticking a flash on and using the focus assist bean does nothing for it.<br>

    Any ideas?<br>

    Anyone else with similar issues?<br>

Am I doing something or is there some setting I'm missing (I don't see one in the menu for auto focus assist)</p>

  8. Hmmm. To my mind there is a world of difference between an upgraded application and extended support of a new camera.

They could have, with very little cost offered a patch for the current version while including it with the new version.

That way the users would be offered a choice....you want new features upgrade.....you just want to support a new camera patch.

At least offering a choice and would not cost too much to a large company like Apple.

  9. Don't really know where to put this and want this to stay among a community I know.

I hired a developer to do a website for me and he gave me a semi complete flash

    site in .swf

He then fooled me into giving him an additional 650 for hosting and never bought it.

He now says the site is completed.

So I asked him to give me the .fla files.

I am right in thinking that if I got someone to do a flash website for me I

should have .fla files with action scripts?

I know nothing about flash but a .swf file is not editable and is a compressed

flash file that is the output that is hosted.

I feel so cheated. I have spent thousands on the internet and have never had any

trouble in dealing with anyone on the internet, always found them trusting and

thought I knew what I was doing. I have now spend 1500 for a website and 650 for

a server and got 1 .swf file that does not even have the text on the pages

filled in correctly. Like my phone number is 0000000000.

The website just seems to be turing a blind eye. I mean legally I must have

something behind me. I have all the emails he sent me and how he tricked me into

    giving him money for nothing.

    What do I do?

    Where do I turn?

I have been conned...they has to be someone out there stopping this type of thing?

A .swf file that is not complete is usless, isn't?

He says upload it it will work, yea it will but I can't change the content, correct?

I'm getting very upset at this stage and feeling so stupid. I'll never trust

anyone again regardless of the list of projects they have behind them.

Thanks in advance to any replies, anything will be a help...

  10. I'm into portrait with fashion leanings and I'd love to find a photoshop course

that teaches so I may apply it to this type of photography. I also do a bit of

wedding photography so PS to aid that and album design would also be great. Does

anyone know of any on line course or DVD that might be worth buying or if there

is any course in the UK (won't bother saying Ireland cause reckon there is

nothing here...someone will prove me wrong, Ha)...

  11. Hmmm, Jason maybe too extreme? I'll have to try it out. I am going to target social children photography so I'll have to rig something for that when it starts for the really young ones.

    Ger..

  12. Ha..."How about attaching same to the top of a "beanie" cap"Imagine the wedding photographer looking like that...at least everyone would be smiling in the photos instead of looking worried...

    Ger..

  13. Ha Jason,

I know it sounds mad but it should work, I think?

I got the idea at a wedding, there was a little girl 2 yr old. I got some nice candid shots but when the parents wanted a family shot she tended to just look at them and cause she was looking at them they were looking at her trying to get her to look at me, which is never going to work...So if I could break out a colourful unusual looking thing in my direction she should look at it, or cry, maybe? But I have to try.....

    Ger..

  14. Hi All,

I'm thinking of getting a baby mobile so I can attach it to my camera to

encourage a young child/baby to look towards the lens. Does anything like this

    exist?

If not I have to make my own, anyone done the before and how have they done it?

I have a few ideas floating around in that bhead of mine but haven't tried them

out yet so any ideas would be welcome.

    Thanks in advance,

    Ger

  15. Thanks guys, 10,000 GBP that is a lot of cash!!! I was thinking it might be 10,000 USD and at that price I might have gone for it but if your right on the price Mark there is no way I would pay that for it.

I was thinking of the 400 2.8 from canon but that might be a bit limiting. I have the 70-200 lens but find that a lot of the time I'm shooting across the racing line which makes grabbing that wow shot a little bit more difficult.

Maybe the 300 2.8 with a 1.4 TC might be the better and less expensive option.

    Thanks guys,

    Ger..
