Thank you, Michail! It was one of the most drenching rainstorms I've ever been in. But afterwards, very photogenic. (shot overlooking the sea beside Taormina, Sicily)

After a long day on the road, this was the state of the front of the van. They died for art!

Thank you, Mike.

Ah, but the horse is forced to share shelter with the combustible beast! Nobody gets the respect she deserves, eh?

You may be absolutely right. The door is not necessary. Cropping does threaten to squish the space for the hose, tho. Although, with judicious use of PS, I could probably manage to fit it in.
Thanks very much for the comment. As I probably said before, this is one of my fave pics of all time, just because.

Good one! Various interpretations are welcome! Thanks for commenting. (I'm not nearly as pompous as I might sound).

Thank you, Benjamin. Even if not too many people actually like this picture, the more I look at it, the more I like it, and this is why:
1. Rembrandt lighting that was completely fortuitous. (bonus of the catch light in the horse's eye)
2. The story of the evolution of industrialization on the farm. (another fortuitous juxtaposition that just happened) The horse's "expression" seems to be one of annoyance, yet awareness of her place in the world: consigned to the same shed with the machine that replaces her.
3. The horse's tail, and the wrinkle lines in her neck mirror the pattern of the grill of the front of the tractor.
4. The color of the tractor and the white of the horse balance nicely; a darker horse would have been difficult to bring out.
From one who never shies away from "improving reality" with Photoshop, this was a treat because I left it pretty much as I found it.

Thank you, Mike! I was excited to happen upon this scene. The man wondered why I would want to take his picture (when I asked him). But, we photographers know why, eh? Life in all its wonderful variety.

Beautiful, arresting and disturbing, all at once. I feel caught like the sheets.

Yes, I tried fixing the horizon, and lost some of the bottom, and decided that the little bit of skew was perhaps more interesting in the long run. It caught your eye, after all!
Thanks both of you for the comments. I appreciate it.

I hope you know how much it means to me that you like this image. It is one of my favorites, and it's not getting a lot of love from anyone else. I am a great fan of yours. You continue to amaze and inspire me every time I see your postings on No Words.
This was shot at the Disney Performing Arts building in L.A., designed by Frank Gehry. It is a stunning piece of architecture.
Thanks so much for the comment.
