I do like the dynamics of the whole thing.

Is this manipulated? How did you get this effect? It looks like a subtle watter color, quite cool! It's nice seeing this shot next to one of "more mormal" lighting. Also good composition and line.

The Place is called Lethbridge in Alberta, Canada. Ruth and I stopped there on our way down from Alaska in 2003. Beautiful place.

I did rather enjoy the 'mirroring' of the wall paper. I honestly didn't like that wall paper. Kind of made my head hurt, and then to shoot a whole wedding with this as the back drop!!! The woman peaking out from behind the pillar was a lark. We were just checking the dynamics of the room.

We were checking out a room where I was going to be shooting a
wedding. Very uninteresting room, but I liked the mirror.

I can't seem to stop shooting light houses. Comments, ratings?

What do you think of this shot? Comments, ratings?

A very interesting treatment. The shot would have been beautiful if shot perfectly horizontal, but not very original. This is interesting.

Thanks again. I agree, I took a couple shots after the bird flew off and it just isn't the same.
-
Thanks, I actually thought about cropping it that way but went this route instead. I'll have to revisit it.

Yes indeed, it is close enough, well 100 or so miles, but it ain't movin' so I can do it again when i've got the right lense with me.

I love photographing nature in action. Other than shooting for hours
and taking hundreds of shots hoping something really interesting
happens while you are there is there any advice you can offer for
doing this kind of photography?
-
Although beautiful to me this shot also has a mood of desolation
about it. Thoughts?

The complex structure of the supoport beams was fascinating to me,
and quite beautiful. It was frustrating for me 'cause I couln't get
the whole think in with the lens I had. Time to get that wide angle!
What do you think?

I love this. Nice the way you captured the squirles intense stare framed by the foliage. You could try a more dramatic croping, say horizontal bringing the bottom up and the top boarder down.
-
Indeed, quite nice. I've never seen a goose in the trees like that! Very crisp with great contrast!
-
I really liked the way it turned out, but I'm biased :-) . Didn't know if anyone else would find it much interesting.

Experimenting with long exposures at midnight. What do you think?
Try to keep it civil.

The fishers are just past and to the right of the light house. I titled it the way I did because the first person I showed it to from this area spotted the boats right away and said, "Must be salmon season, the guys are out hard at it."

One in a series of this lighthouse and breakwater.

The colors and lighting intrigued me. I should have gotten a better
angle to eliminate the people in the lower corner.
It Grew On Her

I don't think that there is too much foreground. If you were to lessen it then the visual impact of the woman would be lost. As it is the first thing I noticed when looking at the photo was the trees and then the highliting on the forground flora led my eye up to the woman lying there. Her odd position in the vegetation is kind of curious, leaving a question in the viewers mind as to what is happening. The way the light just touches her higlighting her thigh, hip and so on is a nice subtlety.
