JAlbum is free and there are a variety of templates/skins to choose from. Banana Album is the most popular Flash skin.

I was reading the thread just below about creating business cards and
thought I'd share my little secret. I wanted to create my own card on
good quality paper or on photo paper without spending too much. A
little light went off as I placed a business card on top of a stack of
6x4 prints.... it was about a third its size!
I made a 6x4 canvas on photoshop and created a 6x4 print that has 3
business cards on it. Take it to W-Mart or send to Shutterfly and get

Today I ran across a thread where Kari Douma mentioned that her lab
prints an 8x10 proof book for her. That's awesome! I'm been trying
to figure out an easy way to do ordering and this sounds perfect. Does
anyone else do this or something similar? If so, what company or lab
do you use?
Thanks folks!

Photoshopped the grooms eyes from one pic to another cause he was blinking. It looked good enough for the 4x6 print they wanted of that photo. It was a larger group photo.

Marc, I went to your website and saw the photo of the albums you offer. I LOVE the size with the handles. What company do you buy from?

I have a friend that has a Canon AE1 and has loved it and taken many
good photos with it. He's interested in switching to digital but
didn't want to worry about buying new lenses and such. Do you know if
there's a digi cam out that would be compatible with his old lenses?
He doesn't shoot as much as he used to so my suggestion to him was to
keep the AE1 and get a prosumer digi cam. Good advice?
Thanks!

You might ask for the location of their studio too and/or a number you could call. There are still lots of people without websites, unfortunatly. The main reason people don't post their real email on Craig's List is because you'd get a TON of spam. Spammers use spambots, which are programs that extract email addresses from web pages, which are then used as targets for spam.
I also agree that the email might have been misunderstood. It's happened to me a couple of times.

I didn't want to use my last name for the reason of pronunciation. My maiden name is Sparks so maybe that would work. Sparks Wedding Photography, Catherine Sparks Photography, or better C. Sparks Photography. Seeing Sparks =)
My film name would be... Callie Rural Route One. He He!

So I just shot my first wedding alone and I want to upload the images
for online viewing. I've decided to go with Photoreflect because I'm
familiar with it from working with other photographers. I started to
create my account but never thought about the name I wanted for my
company. I've toyed around with 'Vision Photography' but it seems too
generic and too many people already have that name. I'm wanting you
folks to give me some imput on how to name my buisness. I thought
about using a phrase from wedding vows but didn't know if it would be
cheesy. Some ideas I've had are: Always You, I Do, I Thee Wed, From
This Day, Bound to You, Kiss the Girl.. all ending with Photography or
Photos. Suggestions? Thanks!

Hi everyone!
Someone has asked me to photograph a custom silver piece thats like an
inch and a half tall. He's tried to do it himself but keeps getting
reflections and hot spots. Can you give some advice on how to shoot
this? I was hoping to use mostly ambient light because the only
lighting I have is a 580 speedlite. Could I bounce that into an umbrella?
Thanks!

I'm an amateur wanting to learn all I can about photography and I'm
interested in all types of photography. Not being a big fan of
spending thousands of $$ for a formal education, I believe I could
learn just as much through self study, reading lots of books, and by
learning from a seasoned photographer. I really want to get together
with a professional and become an apprentice or possible an assistant.
Can you give me any advice on how to do this? Should I just start
contacting local studios and/or photographers? I'm located in San
Antonio, Tx btw. Thanks very much!

Thanks for your input. Since I'm literally just starting, I highly doubt anyone else would approach me for the same date. I did plan on waiting to see if the check cleared before I provided any services though. I don't think this lady will be a problem but this was just an issue I'd never even considered until now.

I'm new to wedding photography and have been faced with a difficult
question.... To take a personal check or not? I got my first deposit
to hold a date and the bride post dated the check for Sep 1st. How
can I protect myself from fees if a checks bounces? Is there come
kind of clause I should add to my contract? Any advice would be very
helpful.
another scam?
