I recently applied and was accepted into the WPJA, but after thinking about it, I wonder if I would be wasting my money there. Are there any other photographers based in Europe that has experience with WPJA or the ISPWP? I'm leaning more towards the latter, just because from my research it seems less expensive, more exclusive, and of course geared towards the European market.
Any help would be appreciated. Oh, and if you are a member of ISPWP, how did you find a sponsor? I'm still new to the business here in Germany and haven't really networked much..

I'm putting together a series of funny/cheese taglines and/or slogans for banner ads on a friend's website. I wondered if anyone had some to add to my list. So far I have:
Say cheese!
Portraits, but more fun.
Shooting kids since 2004.
I like to flash people.
I shoot people with my Canon.
Better photos, more comments. (Facebook ref.)

I'm in Germany Allyson, and although I haven't been actively seeking wedding gigs here, I do book things occasionally. I'll take a look at your sites and get in touch.

I suggest sticking to what you have and just playing with your aperature. Stop down to around f7-8 and you should be golden as far as all the faces being in focus.

Just be nice and act like nothing happened. The past is just that. Being anything but friendly would be unprofessional as well.

Pretty model and I like them. The one with her looking through the stair rails is a good concept but her hand ended up looking like a large claw. I also would have liked to have seen more full body shots showcasing the dress and less closeup headshots.

I agree about the grass. I also think I'd crop it a bit differently and clone out the dark patch in the top right corner. Sweet photo though.

We should start a webpage for this.... Searchable by state and area. Venues and good locations for portrait too. Thoughts?

My advice is that you take me with you! I can't really offer any advice from experience. I'm traveling to my first 'destination' wedding this summer in Hawaii. I'll be glad to hear what others suggest.

Hi Brad,
I'm well within that price range. Please pass along my info: www.photosparks.com

It seems as though you might be using something like Picasa to do these edits.. You really need to have a program with more control. You need to define the edges of what you want in color. The flip flops for example, have a green halo from the grass. The first photo just looks odd with one person in color and just a few flowers.

I have no problem with someone borrowing the q order or ideas BUT this was word for word exactly. Ok, they did change it to one MAN show instead of woman show =)

I recently found out about a site called Copyscape.com . I checked it out today and entered in a couple of pages from my website for fun. Turns out that there is another photographer that totally copied, word for word, my faq page. I already contacted this person and ask that they remove my info and write their own. I searched his site to make sure he didn't have any of my images, but thankfully I found none.
Anyway, I just thought this might be a useful tool for photographers, especially higher profiles ones, that might be at risk of people stealing content.
And now a questions for you all... Do you know how to search and see if your images are being used without your permission?

I just did a newborn session a few weeks ago and did an 'arm shot'. Just had dad drape baby over his arm and hold her close in to his side: http://picasaweb.google.com/CatherineSparks/DuemlerFamilyNewborn#

Yeah, I've tied ties for the groom, redone makeup and hair, pinned on the flowers, re arranged a few bouquets, passed instructions from the couple to various other vendors...
Oh yeah, and there was that time that I guarded the cake from intoxicated food fight instigators... Unfortunatly, that's also the same wedding where I had to clean up the brides face and dress from those same evil doers.

Perhaps you can do their bridal and/or engagement photos? I wouldn't suggest you take the wedding either. Many great points already mentioned.

Where can I find this collage template?
