    Chirping Sparrow

    Thanks for the kind comments.

Cary, gotta love all things that are happy, a good lesson for all of us.

Gail, Nicely put. When we can connect (real or imagined) it seems to add to the enjoyment. These days I feel connections with all things in nature. Maybe a sure sign of insanity lol!

  1. Gail,

Thanks again! Yeah, I love the Loons also. Just got back from a little trip and have added a few hundred more to my already overstocked library of Loon photo’s lol. To me every one of them seem unique and I never tire of photographing them. Waking to the haunting cry of the loon is one of my favorite things. The lens … well I have been fortunate enough to be able to upgrade my photo gear to all I have wanted it to be. Every day we have is a great day and we must pursue our passions and enjoy life to the fullest. I know it sounds a bit cliché, but at some point things happen to make us realize the important things in life I guess!

  2. Gail,

Thanks so much for your kind words. Earlier this spring I was unable to walk with out the aid of crutches due to some health issues and the whole backyard birds thing proved to be my therapy. I would hobble out and sit for hours observing and taking a few photographs. I have since shed the crutches and have moved on to nature photography in other locations, yet I find myself drawn back to my little bird sanctuary and still spend a lot of time there. I guess sometimes the things we seek have been right in front of us all along. I have always known the value of patience but this kind of took it to a new level for me.

    Lake Willoughby

As far as the skyline goes I think it is a bit of an illusion created by the scene itself. The mountain on the right is far taller than the one on the left. Also the mountain on the right meets the water approximately 1.5 miles away while the one on the left meets the water about .5 miles out. Just for curiousities sake I ran the grid in lightroom on the short section that is 1.5 miles distant  (over the more distant sailboat) and it seems to be level. Also the wind was blowing quite hard so the masts of the boats are not a good guide either. I could easly tilt it but it seems level to me.

All the same I thank everyone for their input.

    Bird Houses

Greg, these are actually used. This is in an area about 20 miles or so from where I live. The bird houses have been there quite a few years actually. Took this in the late fall when colors were pretty much absent. It was kind of a dreary overcast day as I recall. Appreciate the comments on the edit as well.

Tommy, not sure who actually made these but it is an interesting scene. This is only a portion of the ones which were there.
