Overview of the Ganges River in Varanasi, India

During the recent Kumbh Mela in Allahabad, India, many people

went to Varanasi where they took a dip in the Ganges River to

absolve them of their sins. I appreciate any comments you may

have.

Suzi, this is spectacular.  The mood and colors are perfect - almost like a painting.  Very well done.  Congratulations.

I have never travelled to such a place. The image for me is mesmerizing - to see so many people gathered at the river. Wonderful colour and detail without much if any blur as so many people were moving. Well done!

a wonderful image, well chosen for photo of the day. theres so much to see and study here, from foreground to background there's detail and purpose in what is captured. well done 

There is no specific object in the frame that could be considered the main subject. No specific object draws individual attention except perhaps the man in the orange. It is the picture of the ambiance of the river considered holy by one faith.  The muck in the foreground in the left corner is a paradoxical reality included in the frame. The time is most appropriate not just for the ideal light but also relevant to the place of worshiped. Each element contributes to the whole. The picture is an essay on the place.

Ah those colours! Much like a painting as others have pointed out. This is a really lovely shot! 

This is a wonderful shot.  I can't offer much by way of criticism here.
