    Juan, this is a beautiful shot, worthy of Photo of the Week, but more than just that, worthy of inspection and understanding. It is "classically beautiful", whatever that means, and it's a punch to the sternum capturing emotion, and pure love, and a memory of an animal you called a friend.

    This was a throw-away shot from a project. I was just fiddling about with contrast etc and liked the end result (pun intended :)). It would have been much more "explicit" without the changes in contrast. Thanks to you all for commenting, I appreciate every word.

    Rina, the feet are a bit distracting, huh? I'd like to try this again, so I'll take your advice.

    Matteo, if I do get the chance to try it soon, I will also try a lighter background.
