1. i havent heard of any problems either. nor had the time to isolate the lens from the body to see which it could be.

i just returned from Nikon Canada, the Vancouver office. i can't believe, well, i do actually, that they have one back up D2x for all of western Canada ( that's four provinces) for The Nikon Pro Service card holders. Of course it's out, of course there are three ahead of me, and of course my D2x has to be shipped, by train, across the country to Toronto in order for it to be checked and serviced. "Hopefully six weeks" they said, it would be returned...after all these years, i don't know why i even bother. I can't even buy a second battery for this camera...

Paul, focus first by depressing the shutter button half way down and let go. then point the camera at your palm and push the ae-l button on the back with your right thumb. then return the cam at your focused subject and shoot. this is on the a, p, or s modes of course. works well for correct ttl flash as well. if, for instance, your subject is standing next to a bright sky, do as per above and with d lenses, works really well for a correct fill flash exposure. when i run on a mode, i always meter like this, focus on the eyes, let go, point the cam at their feet so no sky effects the meter reading, push and hold the ae-l button, return to desired composition and shoot.

  2. sounds like a great deal to me and releives alot of headaches from keeping track of sales and invoices and money in- money out sort of thing. on top of that, i'd like to know what they're 'following' is and how they advertise. if i was included, or highlighted, in their weekly advert in the free local arty newspaper, it's def worth it.

it takes six or seven well publicized shows before your name is "know" and strangers or fans will begin to show up at your shows.

  3. I'm cool man, thanks. Too much work, not enough play. Tomorrow is my first day off in weeks. And of course the last month I've been

busy with this and had the opening last Saturday night. My final 20 shots that I rested on for the hanging are

  4. I've got nothing against plastic Chris. I'd rather drop a plastic one than a metal one. I've already dropped my d2x and half kicked it across a gravel path trying to do a hacky-sack save and not a scratch...
  5. "The D70 is a "plastic piece of junk"? No, I don't think so."

Depends on our standards, I guess. Sorry, well, no I'm not. It's not junk for the money, don't get me wrong. The cam's great value, but the body feels like a $100 bicycle from walmart and is hard to get used to when after using grown up F's.

  6. "We start off discussing costs of film and prints. Eric,..."

this is a thread on marketing, you know, working photog's and thier opinions aplicable.

"I'll probably shoot mostly with the 15mm lens on my Bessa L, my own face being in most of the pictures!"

ah, someones paying you to do a bunch of wide angle self portraits? I don't get it.

"What the hell, life is supposed to be fun , isn't it?"

of course, but this is work, not play.

"The used Bessa/15 combo set me back less than $500 4 years ago and was paid for from the sale of the first couple 11x14 B&W gelatin silver prints."

we know! you've said it a million times.
