  1. <p>Howard, nicely detailed pictures. Gordon, I too am shooting a Nex but it is a 3.</p><div></div>
  2. <p>Still not shooting but some from the archives.</p><div></div>
  3. Howard Stanbury has agreed to start the thread commencing next week. I will still be posting when I have something to share. Post some of your efforts (up to three) witn the long side no more than 700 pixels.<div></div>
  4. Somehow the lifeguard was a dramatic image against the limestone wall.<div></div>
  5. Not many pictures this week. Just a few from the grandchildrens' swimming lessons. Post some of your Sony shots (up to three) with the long side no more than 700 Pixels. The first is of a father tending his daughter while the older child swims.<div></div>
  6. Louis, the isolation of the subject and the b&w treatment give the picture an expressive melancholy appearance. Patrick, Fenrus knows how to pose. The autocord lens is so sharp! I see that England also has minions/
  7. <p>I agree with Rodeo Joe. Even in my shaky hands a strobe shot @ 1/250 sec would not be blurry. Send it back to Nikon with a sample image and ask for a replacement lens.</p>
  8. Outside of cropping, no post processing was used.<div></div>
  9. The Nex has a flip up LCD, manual settings and reasonable noise reduction at high iso so after experimentation the exposure was adjusted.<div></div>
  10. For whatever reason the local government decided to do the 4th of July fireworks on the 5th so tonight I was out with the Nex 3, tripod and family ready to shoot. I had forgotten several factors that show in the first picture. First the grandchildren were excited and running around, the viewing location was near the road and I had no idea what exposure to use. Post up to three of your adventures with the long side no more than 700 pixels. 6.0 sec; f/5.6; ISO 1600 focal length 55mm.<div></div>
  11. At golf camp sometimes there are distractions.<div></div>
  12. Driving down a country road and saw this really red house.See anything with a very dominant color this week? Post up to three with the long side no more than 700 pixels.<div></div>
  13. Patrick, the Nex3 is my light weight kit. I am missing the eye level view finder of the A100 though. Does the fungus come with Marinara Sauce?
  14. Bokeh of kit lens Title should say "Same data"<div></div>
  15. This week we went to the Cagle's Mill/Cataract Falls/Lieber State Park area in Indiana. I had forgotten how bad the roads could be but the memory came back quickly as we went from area to area. Any stream or creek that had a steady flow of water usually had a grist mill in pioneer times. Cagle's Mill was one of them but time has removed the mill itself. The spillway (I think) is still there. I am getting familiar with the Nex 3 and kit lens. I checked Bokeh with a day lily. Post up to three of your Sony pictures with the long side no more than 700 pixels.<div></div>
  16. <p>I think you are correct about the non baffled body increasing the light noise. Would be fun to see before and after if you baffle it. Enjoyed the post.</p>
  17. Howard, the torso of the sculpture is very realistic but the hair gives it away. Gordon, it is a beautiful day here also but the scenery has a ways to go to catch up with that coastline. John P even though my brother had a '49 Ford this is the first time that the "shoebox" moniker has been revealed to me. Paul, had to blow up your pic to see the toe fringes. Must be there to help with sand navigation.
