This is one of the best mornings I've experienced as a professional photographer.  To answer your question ... I shoot in continuous mode in very short bursts.  So I have a series of these images and still haven't determined which is my favorite.  There were actually two lionesses here (neither of which was the mother) and two cubs.  Mum showed up about a half hour after this was taken. On the off chance you might be interested, I'm going to try to attach a link to an article I wrote about this day.

This is actually a re-post.  It had been misappropriated repeatedly as had many of my images.  In several cases it has actually been credited to someone else.  From here on I put nothing on the internet that isn't prominently watermarked.  Sorry you don't like it but someday someone may steal your work ... if that happens I suspect you'll be more sympathetic.
