  1. When viewing galleries under the Explore menu, like Editors' Picks, Photo Contests, Photo of the Day, etc., it appears there have not been any updates in several months. Are these no longer active? The site is not as interesting without them.

    Barn-111

Very nice, moody, winter scene. Cheers, -Clayton
  5. I love that view of Third Pillar from Lee Vining Canyon. The warm light with remaining snow in the gullies adds to the appeal. Cheers, -Clayton
  6. Jeff, very nice. I recognized this area right away. In this case, I prefer the color version. The golden brown meadows signal the approaching colder, snowy days. Cheers, -Clayton.

Jeff, thanks for your encouraging comments. I was driving on the way from Las Vegas to Zion National Park. On a whim, I made a detour through Valley of Fire State Park. It was mid afternoon, so the lighting wasn't ideal, but some high clouds softened it up a bit. This area would be worth spending more time there to catch the early morning and late afternoon light. Cheers, -Clayton.
  8. Giangiorgio, thanks for commenting. This was definitely an unusual site here is coastal California. I was just lucky to be there at the right time. Cheers, -Clayton

Nice beach scene and moment captured. Regarding the bottom, I see foreshortening from a long lens. The very bottom looks like dry sand with a raised area of wet reflecting sand just above it, and then the breaking surf. It looks natural to me. Cheers, -Clayton
