When I look at the subject tree it looks 3 dimensional like it's extending from my monitor. Certainly worthy of enlarging and framing.

It's warm and beautiful. It this one exposure or a composite of two for shadow and highlight detail?

Slgitly cropped. No filtration.

Taken with the camera seen in the next photo. Took a trip to the Sierras and got sick
and spent only a few hours all week in the field.

What a mood it creates esp if you printed large. Excellent

When I look at an image I ask myself would I like it at 30x40 inches hanging on my wall. This one is a yes indeed. The blue cast broadcasts "COLD" without being overdone. Great use of TS-E lens. How far from the lens it the ice chunks?

The sky looks like it's been done in HDR like photomatix but not overdone. You did a beautiful job and came up with a new look to a well photographed location. I love it.

All your technique is sound, the exposure is right. For more definition in the clouds you could make composite of 2 different exposures. The wall across the front is interesting but blocks the viewer from travelling into the scene. Maybe find something else for a foreground of interest.

Monochrome overall with small spot of color automatically draws the eyes to your subject. He is looking left and you put him on the right--works good.

Looks like a sci-fi illustration. I'm coveting your gear too. Try the 14-24mm. I use one on my 5d2 and it's amazing. Gave you a 6.

Yes California does have a real autumn.

When an image screams at me that I want to be there then you did your art well. I have always wanted the 17 tse to go with my 24 and now I want it even more.

Thoroughly luxuriant colors. Perfect light. 7.

I cannot think of anything that can be done to improve this. Comp. excellent, lighting gorgeous, leading line draw viewer into the image, colors not overdone. Classy. 7

12 Year old photo taken when film was still widely used.
-
Composite of 2 images at different exposures instead of using nd grads.

When I see a photo such as this I ask myself what could be done to improve it, what are it's weaknesses? I can't see how it could be improved so I gave it a 7.
