I wanted to trade my 50mm lux for a 35mm lux or cron but nobody seems
interested in a trade right now. I'm now trying to sell it with no
bites thus far ..sooo..I would like to know what 35mm lens would
compliment a Leica M6..the only problem is I'm on a budget - since I
still have the 50mm with me. Can anyone please do me the favor of
posting pics from various 35mm lenses to see the differences in
crispness/contrast. I have read so many reviews of the Color Skopar
lens (mostly negative). Or can someone sell me a 35mm summicron at a
decent price?

Could you explain or link further on film scratching issues please? And are Leica SLR's fairly loud?
-
Thanks for the responses. I am actually looking to trade this 50mm for a 35mm cron or lux..but since I bought it without any front cap or filter ..I would like to sell it with one or the other to protect the lens for the next user.

Hmmm...
Well..I bought a Summilux 50mm from someone and was trying to look for
the filter size and I believe I came across kbcamera's website.
Anyway..it stated that Summilux 50mm used to take a 43mm filter and
then it listed a serial number and whatever came after that had taken
a 46mm..so I then received a 46mm from a member of the forum and it
does not fit?!?!?! Totally confused now. My serial number starts with
#28483**. I'm assuming this is 43mm..but uh..let me know. This is
becoming a pain in the booty. Thanks

That was hilarious.. =)

I saw this on the classified section of Photo.net I don't know if this is a good deal since I know nothing of the camera. Just thought you might be interested.

Salgado uses the R system as well ..doesnt he?

Hello,
I have a 400mm Spiratone lens that went on a Canon AE-1 but since that
camera is no longer functional I would like to use it on my old
Minolta X-700. Could someone please tell me what is the exact adapter
I need to use this lens on the X-700. I tried googling and came up
short. Thank you.
-
Would YOU jump into the "M" system now?
Um..I did. I've always been an SLR user on non Leica systems.
-
I really just want to put on a filter so I can protect the lens..
Sincerely,
Unhappy Camper

Ok..I have a problem. I bought a used 35mm Summicron lens and it does
not seem to have a thread to screw on a filter or hood.

This is my first Leica and Summicron..so..this newbie is seriously
lost. Maybe someone would like to trade?

how much does it cost to get haze cleaned out? roughly speaking of course.
-
Monkey I like the glow you have on yours..what lens did you use?

I am looking to travel overseas and wondered if the X ray protective
film bags work. I would rather buy film here cheaper than buy at the
current conversion rate there..I just wanted to know peoples
experience in using these bags. Thank you

It was for a 35mm Summicron Lens..and the person selling it does not know much about lenses to describe anything other than scratches. So I wasn't sure if I could detect lens separation fairly easily once I see pics. Thanks for your responses.
-
How can you tell if there is lens separation? Is it easy to detect and
how much would it cost to get that fixed..roughly?. Thank you
-
Thanks for your responses. I'm simply looking for either a 35mm or a 50mm Summicron. While reading and looking at photos and looking at what people are selling and for the price..I just want to be sure I'm spending this money on something I'm happy with -which is the bottom line-I've looked at many photographs taken with Noktons and Summicron 40mm and I'm just now sure if I like the grey tonality..it seems a bit flat for me(although I can use a filter).
-
I am in the process of looking for Summicron lenses and the more I
read articles and comments I'm seeing an array of opinions. Does
anyone have a website that shows you pictures taken with different
versions of Summicron lenses?
Also..how much do you think the asking price of a Summicron C should
be in case I consider going that route. And I've read that filters and
hoods are hard to come by..is it worth the investment? Thank you
-
Actually, the more I look at these photos..I do like the second one better. It looks like he's waiting for death.
-
I think both are good. If that man is waiting for his "mistress" at that age.. Bless his little heart. "My first impression is of a Cuban" ..he could be from any Central or South American Country..but the fact that you pinpointed had me chuckling. Thanks for the photos.

Marc your photograph of the Bride is just beautiful. I wanted to know what you would recommend as far as reading is concerned. I have yet to work with fill flash..tried but..gone very bad. Thanks.
