The Eos 3 is older then the Eos 1v. I think that the reason why the Eos 3 (and smaller versions) have eye focus, is that the Eos 1v have a picture coverage of 100 percent vertically and horizontally, and be4couse of that that is no place for the eye focus system.

I have found a software thats emulating the Nikon ML-L3 remote with a
Palm Pilot. The URL for downloading the software is <a
href="http://www.natemc.com/nikontrigger.php">http://www.natemc.com/nikontrigger.php</a>
and its compatible with the following Nikon cameras; N65 / F65, Pronea
S (APS), Nuvis S, Nuvis S 2000, Nuvis V, Lite Touch Zoom 110s QD, Lite
Touch Zoom 130 ED / QD, Lite Touch Zoom 150 ED / QD, N75 and D70.

The first link above is wrong, it should be; <a href="http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1021&message=8072167">http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1021&message=8072167</a>.

It seems that the new D70 have some problems. The problem is that the
pictures display a very clearly uneven distribution of colors - the
left of the picture is greenish, and the right of the picture is reddish.

Actually an EF12 on the 17-40/4L will give some spectacularly macro pictures. Maybe not for photographing insects due to the extremely short working distance (the distance between the front lens and the subject you want to photograph). But for flowers and other non freighting (and dangerous) subjects.
I have seen a really cool picture, the picture have a flower in close-up (the flower must almost touch the front lens) and in the background you will see a lawnmower that in the next second will cut the flower down. The person and the lawnmower are not sharp but recognizable.

I think that can use the Nikon TC14e and TC20e converters with this modification, http://nikonpages.heymanphotography.com/tcmod/ , but please note that any warranty will be void.

I would recommend a <a href="http://www.gitzo.com/">Gitzo</a> tripod. The G1340 Mk2 Performance would be great for you.

<b>Nikon develops new image sensor</b><br>
According to an article in the Japanese Nikkei, Nikon has developed a new image sensor based on a new 'LBCAST' technology. This new sensor design allows data to be read twice as fast as standard sensors. The new sensor is destined for digital SLR's, to quote the article "An SLR camera with the LBCAST sensor will be capable of consecutive shooting at the best level for CMOS cameras made by other companies, or 8 shots per second, which is also more than twice that of ordinary compact digital cameras with CCD (charge-coupled device) sensors." As far as I know this is the first in-house developed sensor from Nikon.

Have anyone tested the FLM (<a href="http://www.flm-
gmbh.de/englisch/photo-kugelkopf.htm">http://www.flm-
gmbh.de/englisch/photo-kugelkopf.htm</a>) ball head? It looks
superb, lightweight but can handle allot. I am thinking of getting a
CB 38 to my Gitzo G1226 tripod with the biggest lens a 300/4 on a
Eos3. And CB 24 for my tabletop tripod (Gitzo G0011).
New Canon digital SLR - the 20D is official
