This image was taken two weeks before close approach which is on the
6th of June.
Various cloud bands, festoons, and ovals can be seen including the
reddish BA oval at the top.

An amazing work of art mate. I would love to know the exposure time and how you got the people to stand still if it was a long exposure. Was there much PS processing involved? 7/7

This is a very good image George, I see little noise and the stars are pinpoint which means you took the time to polar align the mount correctly. It can be very difficult to focus a DSLR through a refractor at night on such a dim object, so I don't see how you could have done it better.

Thank you all for the feed back, I glad theres nothing wrong with my camera!
To take the photo I had my camera "Piggy Backed" on my telescope which was polar aligned to the South Celestrial Pole. One clock motor was used to track the stars.

Does anybody know what the red flaring in the corner near the tree? It has something to do with the camera as it appears in all exposures over 3 minutes long!!
