the best surf shot in your portfolio. great comp, timing and exposure.
-
very nice, that is one crazy flare you got going on there.... love the symmetry.

well, i am sure slash has tattoos of naked women and birds, but as far as this image goes it is superb in my book 7/7. as someone already said shooting live music indoors is increadibly tough. 1. available light and 2. position. Generally you are much lower than the artists. this was pulled of the best it could. You probably could pull a little more detail out around his feet but, that is so minute. And to the first post.. Slash hardly ever shows his face..... that's his "thing".

that is a great capture of a true legend in action. I would love to photograph him. He always puts 110% into his shows and his on stage antics are pure punk rock.

6/6 great shot composure and timing. tweak the saturation a bit to being out a bit more of the color and you have yourself a perfect shot. did you have ask for the high five?
-
Jayme, another great image. it really works as the eyes just pop out anfd make you smile.
-
great shot, did you perform all the color treatment in post?

Michael, Another great shot! strong emotion just like the vibe you get when watching them play a show. i can almost smell all the sweaty 'lil punks around me.

thanks for the comments!!!!! i was not really a big fan of the tape idea but i thought it might grow on me. give it more of a punk feel. as far as the size goes. I am still getting my feet wet as far as saving for the web goes. i will repost larger without the frame in my portfolio. Thanks again. !!!!!!

Another one...... better angle

i shot a few that way but it was so hit or miss and as usual you only have three songs down below so time was precious you can see them all at http://www.flatbrokefishing.com/alktrio/index.htm

thank for taking the time to contribute..... i wish more people would. i checked out all your galleries great stuff. the stage at this club was exceptionally high. i will look into the monopod and remote great idea. how do most fans and the bands respond to it being in the way. i shot alot of video in the past and am now looking ot start making a living at shooting stills. thanks again.

m shadows really trying to be a rock star.......... the glasses make hte shot work but maybe the crop is just too tight. i shot them last year at warped. all that pasty white makeup really shows up in the daylight.

the emotion is there, i just feel the clean white light is a bit off. the street lights are so dark yet colorful then you loose all of it with the white light from the inside. another minor thing is he middle finger on the left hand but that is so minor and has an intriguing feature sorta like an opposite f.off. well composed well lit as far as the white goes. it is hard to keep the texture in a wife beater tank with so many other darm colors. i give it a 6/6

My first shot at shooting live music. Any help on shooting in such low light would be greatly
appretiated.

Glenn, great shot. I have yet to start shooting underwater. I have many hours diving and shootign video but just submerging into the still realm. Over here in Florida we see quite a few slipper/shovelnose lobster. I have mounted a few and eaten a few. I love seeing this creature, nice change of pace .

I understand the watermark but I feel it is a bit excessive. It really takes away from the photgraph.

besides getting a great shot with super lighting its Lamb Of God! 6/7 if he was turned a bit more to see the guitar it would be a seven.

David, from what I have learned surf photography is all about being in the right place at the right time. Obviously form your portfolio you have this down pat. this is just another superb shot. i particularly like how the lip looks like a sheet of ice telling me as a viewer how cold it really was. as if the 5/4 full suit didnt do it already. also the sun peeking in. vignetting smignetting....7/7
