I take my high speed photographs in a dark room. The exposure time is set to 1 sec. on the camera. But the real exposure time is set by the flash. In this occation the flashes was set to 1/32 of the normal output. That gives a flash duration of 1/19.000 sec. on the speedlite. Flash duration = exposure time in the dark room.
