The hexar is quicker to focus and shoot - the contax t2 shutter lag is significantly longer.
Neither is a long term investment.
I'd suggest getting used to the hexar- perhaps using a belt pouch or a wrist or shoulder strap.

Sandisk extreme III 8 GB works well for me.
I had a couple of other cards that would lock up the
camera-- especially on continuous mode. No problems sit
the Sandisk.
I like the M8 very much. I have a bunch of cameras and
have looked at the DXo ratings and my experience shows
the M8 photos to be a lot better than DxO suggests.
Having an M9 for a few weeks, I found the M8 to be
mostly a cropped M9, any ISO superiority did not exist at
the pixel level. Also, I could detect a magenta cast on the
M9 photos and none with the IR lens filtered photos of the
M8. The battery life was somewhat less on the M9 and it
wasn't any faster.
I've thought about getting a panny gx or Oly mini or lite or
NEX for video and have handled them in store. However,
for photos, the M8 is superior for how I use it.

Yes, shading the camera with your
hand works for me, too.

28 and 35 have different perspectives.
Zooming with your feet is akin to cropping.
Not the same.

At the part he's pre-setting the focus notice how he spins...and spins....and spins the focus ring-- ha ha.

The epson r-d1 had/has color filters.
Maybe the new M9 firmware will have then? :-) (don't hold your breath!)

I'm happy you're excited about hour new camera. As you can see, there's some disagreement about whether it's a
rangefinder (IMHO, it's not) but don't let that bug you YET (you can get a M camera later to see what you're missing).

It's wet there. If you spent more, you'd probably get a better camera. I got an excellent fm3a from there, and beautifully maintained fountain pens-- but of course these weren't the cheapest on eBay.

Shutter lag on the M8 is 80ms.
On the M9, it is 100ms. FYI, the hexar RF has 90ms lag.
Next time you watch a track meet race, note that first and second place are
often milliseconds apart.

I tend to set focus and walk with the subject, keeping the same distance.
I also focus on the ground where the subject is going to pass.
Hyperfocal works well in bright light.
Them sometimes I just bring my Nikon D700....

Like from the song by Paul Simon, Kodachrome. The USA/Canadian way.
Nikon is from Ikon, and it's "eye-khan."
The Japanese mispronounce it.
Just like Nikon screwed up the mount on their rangefinder when they stole it
from Contax.
But that's just my opinion, even though its right.

try again: hands, M8, 28 cron asph, Lr3+++

28mm summicron asph.
90mm summicron asph.

I noted that, too. But the F6 is quieter than the d700 -- same size, etc. Why's that?

I use the Amedeo adapter and it works well

Yes, something about circle of confusion, airy disks, print enlargement/magnification, crop factors, etc etc

The M8 when it's upgraded and working is a fantastic camera. Imagina an M9 with a 1.3 crop, better buffer, weaker anti-
alias filter and no IR problems (with the proper filter), shorter shutter lag and better battery life.

Reconsider: try a 20mm ais manual focus nikkor first. Light. Good quality. Cheap. Indestructable.

In my case ($95000 car), I registered the guys name as a website and forwarded it to a car forum that had all the details
on it. The used car dealer was a real sonofab&$@$ but everyone knew about it. He ocassionally still logs on using
pseudonyms and makes personal threats, etc. I actually had to delete my personal photos here and use a pseudonym
(thank you Josh!) at my wife's insistence. The BBB was useless as he wasn't a member. The state revoked his license.
He moved and a reporter learned of him through the web so he's not gone far there either. The lawyers were too
expensive and useless (USA and Canada). The good money (45000)I kept and used to fix the car rather than pay the
lawyers.
Thanks for letting us know about this creep. Be brave and resolute.

Ditto what Dieter said. You're on your own.
You know who he is and where he is, start from there. Google his name, write a letter to the local newspaper, contact the
media, leave feedback, google Internet fraud and contact the authorities-- you'll feel better, have told the world in
perpetuity about this guy, and for 3300 he will live on in infamy and his reputation will be dirt-- but he'll most likely still
have your money. Sorry. I've been jerked around on the Internet a couple of times now: $95,000 usd once and $2200 usd
another.

I have an F6.
It's smaller.
Better dust/moisture resistance.
