I hate to state the obvious but have you tried "Help" or the instruction manual?

<I>Anyone with similar issues?</I><P>No and I have been using Aperture since day
one, even before the rebate in fact.<BR>Why should Apple give you a refund, the
problem isn't with Aperture but somewhere within your computer. Now that could be a
Apple problem but Aperture isn't. <BR> BTW, you are the first one that I'm aware of
that Apple "made" you <I>replace RAM, hard drive and all software (they actually
made me wipe my imac and re-install</I> Sounds like you got Microsoft support by
mistake. LOL<P>It does sound like a hardware problem, along the lines of a kernel
panic, which are bitch to find. Good luck.

Sony and Apple have been working on fuel cells for the last several years. Sony
showed a prototype hybrid fuel cell system last month that is 1.2 by 2 inches.
<P>From a review at electronista.com: "The active fuel cell system uses methanol as
fuel, and earns the hybrid designation as the output is complemented with a Li-polymer
secondary battery. Traditional fuel cells produce electricity from various external
quantities of fuel, and last for long amounts of time, but constantly require re-fueling,
while Sony's prototype could operate by storing the produced charge in its integrated
battery."

<I>...FTP data to another server</I><P>Film and slides?

The Windows version is epson321059eu, it is zip file. When you download just make
sure you are downloading Windows not Macintosh. But as Ian said just make it easy
and convert to Macintosh.

<I>......and not at all the technical stuff you need to get an image on film.</I><P>That
is not doubt the most absurd comment I have seen on Photonet. The only difference
between digital and film is one uses a digital sensor while the other uses film to
capture the image. Light is bipartisan.

<I>.......MF-Glass-Holder, but scanning 35mm with it is a PITA...</I><P>Not if you
use Vuescan. The trick with the glass holder is to use a minus "Frame offset" and
then pull the "crop box" around the image.

The fastest way is hold down the Option key as you "Empty Trash".

Page 68 of the D200 users manual tells you you need to know.

<I>ever try the real method?</I><P>The "real method" is described by Kristin. What
don't you understand about "stop/delete the job"? <P>This problem has popped with
OSX and most users think has to do with a buffer overrun. I have no idea if that is the
reason nor do I care, just want to work. It has happened to me with OSX 10.4.x and
ended up thrashing everything Epson and starting over. Never happened with OTR so
it must be a Epson/Apple spat. BTW, since going to OSX 10.5.x I haven't had the
problem, knock on wood.

PS3 should work. OSX has what is called Rosetta built in which converts PowerPC
applications to work with Intel. There is no emulation just a translation of software, big
difference and I doubt that you will notice a speed difference with PSE. BTW, PSE3 is
over three years old, you might want to get 6 in any case.

<I>"....most of the page loads from a mac.com domain.

"whattheduck, net". The link I provided is the "duck" website, use whatever works for
you.

<I>"....The simplest and most inexpensive way is to download the free Raw
Therapy</I><P>Not if one is using the Macintosh OS.

You might also want to check out Portfolio 8.5 by

Works fine and very fast in Safari and Firefox for Macintosh, of course speed depends
on ones internet conection. The links that Mark and Peter posted go through
.mac.com which might cause a problem with Windows users.<P>For direct link try: <a

Gianni Rogliatti's excellent book, "Leica - The First Sixty Years", first published in
1975, shows the subject Leica as "schwarz". <P>Quoting Rogliatti, "...production
officially stopped in 1971 with serial number 1,286,700; however late in 1973 it was
decided to make another small number of black M4's, finished in the new black
chrome, which had been developed for the M5's from both Canada and Wetzlar.
Late production Canadian M4's in black chrome were actually engraved with Leitz
Canada wording, whereas earlier cameras assembled in Canada carried "Wetzlar"
engrave top-plates."<P>The seller is using Cameraquest as a reference but when
one goes to CQ the listing doesn't say black paint just black. Me thinks that the
seller is not trying to pull a fast one, he is just confused. I sent the seller the above
information.

I have both the Nikon LS9000 and the Epson V750.<br>If you are going to only scan
film, not reflective copy, and are going no larger then medium format the go for the
Nikon.<br> The size of the prints that can be made from either scanner depends on the
size of the negative used, the Epson can scan up to a 8"x10" negative. The size of a
print from a sharp 8x10 neg. can be measured in feet not inches. With a decent 2 1/4
negative one can get sharp prints at least 30"x30" from either scanner. <br>Both
scanners can use fluid mounting, in fact I fluid mount with the Nikon using a glass
holder, works fine.

Rodinal Special is a phenidone-hydroquinone composition.<br>
Rodinal is a p-aminophenol composition.<P>
<I>"Special contains no Rodinal".</I> Nor does Rodinal, Rodinal is a trade name not
a chemical.<P>BTW, Studional is still being sold in Europe along with Special and the
original Rodinal by a & o Imaging Solutions who took over Afga.

In Photoshop "Save as" choose "Photoshop PDF" to save as a PDF. BTW, PDF is
written into the Macintosh Operating System so one can read and save PDF files
without having any Adobe software on the Macintosh, it uses "Preview".<P>As far
as a PC not being able to read .jpgs/.jpegs the problem is on their end. With a
Macintosh it doesn't matter if the extension is jpg or jpeg. I have both Macintosh
and Window machines and I have no problem going from one to the other with
jpgs.<P>Why you can't open the files after burning in Toast is news to me. I also
use Toast and never have a problem with reading the CDs. There is one way with
Toast that will prevent PCs from opening files and that is if "Mac Only" is checked
in the Data window, but that will not stop a Macintosh from opening the file.<P>Have
you tried copying the jpgs to the desk top and then opening them?

Photoshop CS3 can use a maximum of 3 gigs of RAM. The 2 GB PSD, 4 GB TIFF
number is for the file size the CS3 can work on, not the amount of RAM used. 3 GB
for CS3, which is 32-bit, is the maximum that can be used, but on a 64-bit operating
system, OSX 10.5 in my case, CS3 can access up to 8 GB. The amount over 3 GB is
used by PS plugins, filters, actions etc, plus anything above 4 GB is used by the
operating system as a cache for the PS scratch disk data. <P>As we say in the
Professional Photography/Graphics world, "Too much RAM is not enough!"
-
Oh, forgot to mention when you use Image Processor your original image is left as is,
a JPG copy is made and placed in a folder labeled "JPGs" where you chose.
-
If you are using PhotoshopCS3 you can use either "Save for Web" or "Scripts" >
"Image Processor" to change your images to sRGB, 8-bit, JPGs. <BR> Image
Processor will convert RAW, TIFF with layers, including resizing for the web, to JPGs -
sRGSs with one click of the mouse.

I don't care if someone takes images off of my website, I just ask that they spell my
name right when they repost it.
firefox 3.0 coming - with color management

<I>"....Firefox 3 is already available on Unix and Linux systems</I><P>I have been
using Firefox 3 beta on a Macintosh for a couple of months and it works
great.<P>"....work on a Mac, and prepare their own online images........images that
aren't adaptd to the sRGB space"</I><P>That isn't just a Macintosh problem, being
that sRGB is platform agnostic, but an operator not saving as sRGB regardless of
the Operating System used. If one is using Photoshop "Save for Web" then the
"Standard Windows Color" box should be check, regardless of what OS one is
using. Also if one is using the latest PS version then "Save as sRGB" can be made
the default in "SFW".<P>I do all my web work on a Macintosh but also have a white
box PC, with a non calibratedd monitor, using XP, IE and Firefox for checking things
out and my web images are very close on the Windows box, even in the infamous
Internet Explorer.
