Thank you for the comments. The problem with rainbows is that they change and disappear just as quickly as they appear. This one was completely unexpected and I wish I had time to do a better job of it.

This photo is almost completely black on my monitor. It's hard to tell what it is. Is it just my monitor or this the effect you were after?

The light was so beautiful this morning so I went to my favorite

park with my camera hoping to capture it. Even thought it's January

and there's snow on the ground, it suddenly started raining and a

beautiful rainbow appeared with the Chinook Arch in the background.

I like the contrast between the cool colours which suggest the crispness of the early morning air and the warm glow of the sky (and vegetation in the foreground) which suggest the dawning of a warm summer day.

Thanks for the comments Chuck. I would like to go back and try these again. As is often the case around here, it was quite windy when I took this photo and also rather late in the day.
