1.
Matthew Brennan, Lil Judd, MS Keil, Jose Angel, Kent Shafer, Chris Court thanks for the comments.

Lil, I am pretty sure it's Barley

Jose, Fancy White mountain bike shoes! I am guessing you have a drier climate than we do here in Ireland

Matthew Brennan, great light in your frosty landscape, I hadn't realised you had frosts there either.

Indranil Chandra, Moab looks stunning, it's on my list of places to go cycling before I die

 2.
This is actually something I have been thinking about lately as I mostly go cycling and hill walking and take the camera rather than going out just on a photo expedition. At the moment I have a d80, sigma 10-20mm, 17-55mm and sigma 30mm. The only feasible outfit really is the d80 and the 10-20 stuffed in my rucksack, though for cycle touring on road I have taken the 17-55 instead.
I am giving serious consideration to changing to a Pentax k20d (sorry!) as Pentax have such a nice range of very small and light crop primes. Either that or maybe keep the d80, sell all my lenses and get the Nikon 12-24, 35dx and either a 50 or the 60 micro. The 16-85 vr is an ideal range in many ways but the slowness of the lens puts me off.

 3.
Nice door Pedro, I have a bit of a thing for decayed doors and windows too.

From one of my lunchtime wanders.
D80 + 17-55mm f2.8 @ 20mm, f5.6, 1/400, iso100

 4.
Since it's Bluebells time of year I thought I'd have a go at shooting some this week. For some reason I chose b&w for this colourful little plant.
D80 + 55mm f3.5 AI @ f5.6(I think), 1/40, iso 100, Chimp metering, tripod mounted

 5.
If you are happy with the 18-35 and use it 95% of the time I'd be more tempted to buy a prime to go with it and take those 2 travelling. You don't have a nice fast prime in your bag at the moment. Looking at the focal length you use most on the 28-105 would probably give you a good idea. Maybe a 50mm or maybe one of the 60mm macros if you feel you'd like a macro lens.

Personally I have the 17-55, its a bit of a lump for lightweight travelling but I love it too much to leave it at home :)

 6.
Matthew - another lovely landscape
Alejandro - great light

Just a lunchtime snap this week from me. I was waiting for someone to walk in the shot but no one ever came.
Nikon D80 + Sigma 30mm f1.4 @ f1.4, 1/200, iso 100

00TLE1-134151584.jpg.3a993790d3b5d87c5048f826d49b2b40.jpg

 7.
This is the ESB Power station in Cork City, Ireland. It is just down the docks from where I work so taken at lunchtime last week.
D80 + Sigma 30mm f1.4 @ f8, 1/320, iso 100

00TH11-132115584.jpg.9d4f6e78de86d3b4aa3ad0ea3c2978a0.jpg

 8.
I picked up the Sigma 30mm soon after the Nikon became available because of the less CA, wider view and better bokeh. I didnt buy an f1.4 lens for it's bokeh stopped down to f4.
It's a very nice lens and about twice the size of the Nikon.

 9.
Sorry I only shot film last week and it's still in the FM2 so you'll have to make do with one from the week before that I processed.
D80 + Sigma 30mm f1.4 @ f3.5, 1/160, iso 200

00TCjV-129435584.jpg.6ad8d853efeca531554fcb76e61151ab.jpg

 10.
Funny out of the 3 lenses you have the only one you like is the one that I would say doesn't pop on a D80!
I found the 20 2.8 not even as good as my 18-70 at the same apertures especially at the corners. So I sold them both and got the 17-55, it pops.
You get used to the size but when it really is too bulky I just take my Sigma 30mm f1.4 instead, a lens I am starting to like a lot...be warned though thats as big as your 20 and 35 added together too.

 11.
F100 if you want familiarity and more lens compatability, they are a lovely camera.
FM2 if you want a great basic camera that is an absolute joy to use.
I've had both but I still have the FM2 for when I want a change from the D80.

 12.
Nice shot Jose love the reflected colours in the chairs, and a weird conincidence since the shot I had choosen for this week also involves chairs, bokeh, f1.4 and a European city!
Taken in Cork, Ireland on Friday evening while I had a couple of hours to kill waiting for my wife.
Nikon D80 + Sigma 30mm @ f1.4, 1/640, iso100

00T8cp-127229684.jpg.737783bd496c6df79b57f9df686961ca.jpg

 13.
Gert, H. Ting, Georg S, Jose Angel thanks for the kind words

Some great contributions this week I particularly like
Matthew Brennan's landscape &
Hector Andrade's birds

 14.
Jose Angel, that's quite a powerful image.

Mine for this week is taken in The Burren, County Clare, Ireland. I spent the weekend there with my wife taking alot of shots as the weather was great. This is my favourite image out of what I have processed so far, one of the beautiful stone walls.
D80 + 17-55mm @ 20mm, f7.1, 1/250 , iso100. RAW

 15.
I have been doing a personal project for a while now on the Docklands of Cork City, Ireland. This area is scheduled for revelopment soon into fancy apartments and retail units. It will be a great shame to loose the working docks so I have been trying to document the area before it goes.
Here is one from this week of a Dock worker, not lookign very busy!
Nikon D80 + 17+55mm @ 24mm, f3.2, 1/320, iso 100
Shot from the hip, just the bottom cropped off.
