  1. Thanks Matt, I was hoping to get your thoughts and informed knowledge on some of the licensing requirements. And yes, this was a prime example of some small Drone use to obtain the footage. Regards, Jim j.
  2. I've mentioned this before in the past but never followed up to see if any corrections were made. However, again, some Forums don't show up in both the "full version or, Desktop" and the "Mobile version" of the site. Today I learned that the new "Drone Forum" is one that you or, at least I can't find in the Forum drop down menu on the Mobile side. Just thought you might want to know, It was frustrating to read about "new Forums" I might be interested in but, unable to locate them!
  3. Just yesterday (Friday 10.21) we had a chemical spill at the MGP ingredients plant in Atchison Kansas. The best News coverage images were from an individuals Drone. (2.41 min video) here: http://www.kctv5.com/clip/12842922/drone-video-shows-plume-from-chemical-spill-in-atchison In the Newscast I obsered yesterday, the Drone Pilot discussed how at one point he lost his drone in the plume cloud! It appears that he was at considerable altitude at times. I'm in no way complaining in any manner but, it seems I recall some FAA restrictions in licencing once operating above a certain altitude. I think it was 400 feet. I have now today noticed that his video has been removed from some reports. Has there been some firm licensing requirements or, altitude restrictions?
  4. Yep, I just had to have one of those Hot shoe levels when I ran across them. I do use mine sometimes. It's handy, keeps your mind occupied worrying about losing it, dropping it, scratching it up carrying with your pocket change, etc., etc.. Tim, got mine from either Adorama or B&H because I've not shopped for camera gear any where else! JDM's Extension tube set looks interesting! My photography gear budget could maybe do those!
  5. Glenn: I just sort of stumbled into this thread (not one of my usual Forum browses ) but, I too would like to echo the many thanks to you and your team for the decision to at least temporarily revert back to PN 1.0 and possibly establish a more accessible beta site for PN 2.0. When the URL for the beta is established, can it also be posted in the other Forums where the PN 2.0 conversations are happening, Site Help, Casual Conversations, etc., etc.? . . .Jim j.
  6. Thanks Bill & JDM, I did change the Forwarding email but have not yet changed the "primary" which I believe may be the one used to log into the site. Hoping to hear from someone in Administration before I change that one. Don't want to set myself up to where I can not log in!
  7. +1 for what Mr. Bayer indicates. I do have back-up of my images but, currently only a phone and small Tablet as my only access to the internet. Until now, I had forgotten that all my equipment is listed here! Time to get out the Pencil & Paper! Thanks for bringing this to the surface Daniel.
