I love all your self portraits. They are the best of your work! This one is no exception.

Happy New Year!

Yes, I agree. Option B is the better one.

Agree, this looks really magic. A wonderful photo.

Great shot. Beautiful and with a fine melancholy.

Brilliantly done: Light, colors, composition, her posing. She looks so self-conscience it's almost scary....

Great shots from China!

A great image!

Thank you very much for your comment, Luca. This photo pleases me, but I'm not quite sure why. I think there are two reasons: One is the relationship between the persons, they seem connecting in one way, and very independent in another way. The other reason is the shadows. I think the shadow and light areas are positioned in an interesting way in the photo. The light/shadow pattern makes up an interesting motif, no matter what is the real motif. The combination of these two elements makes this an interesting photo to me. Alas, I have received mostly 3 ratings for this shot. People at pn don't see the same values as I do. I'm very glad you found it interesting enough to write a comment.

A lovely image. I particularly appreciate the tiny, little bush back there.

A superb color composition!

Congratulations!

I'm not content with the cropping on this one. Therefore I "sheet" a little, substitute the upload photo, and store the original as an attachment to this comment.

Wonderful capture, and amazingly sharp. Both being able to shoot with sufficiently fast shutter, and the ability to focus accurately in the ambient light. Nikon D3 or D700?

Thanks for your comments Markku, of course you are right. And there is no excuse for me not to achieve this correction, since I have the DxO Optics Pro application, which actually corrects for the combination of camera house and lens. For this shot, I did not use DxO for one reason or another, may be I'm too lazy and not perfectionist enough. Thanks for reminding me, actually I share your opinion here. For a comparison, I attach a DxO corrected version. I didn't know about the PTLens, I'll check it out. At least I can recommended it to friends who do not want to buy DxO Optics.

I guess my comment will not be a popular one. I don't see any passion here, she is far too much manipulated. Her skin does not look natural, neither do her eyes. The photo does not depict a human being, but a doll. The photo would improve tremendously with less manipulation. I would really like to watch a photo of the human being standing in front of the camera during the shooting, but alas, she is replaced by something artificial. I find it depressing and provoking. What's wrong with real life beauty?
Paul, I hope you don't take my comments too personally. There is a significant tendency at pn to over-manipulate photos of girls. Young girls have their natural wrinkles removed, while old ladies have them exaggerated. This seems to be the correct taste at the moment. You do what most other do, you do it well, and get acclamations for it. But as you understand, I don't quite follow.

An astonishingly complex mosaic of colors and lines. A real-world cubistic motif. I like it.
