"says its a corrupted file."<br><br>
hmm? i dont know who you are talking about. my xti is perfect. i mean, its a canon. like everyone else, i really doubt that its the camera.

24-70 L is a necessity. who cares how much it weight.
-
Well done :)

hmm. I like the website. its easy to navigate.
but somehow i feel like there are too many accessories in the website, and not so much of pictures in each of the links. i dont know, maybe its just me, but i feel like the cool animated buttons and the borders take my attention away from the images which you are trying to present to the viewer.

ah. darn. i bought the lens (24-70 2.8:). and i got a bad copy. hows that. ha! sending in for recalibrating soon...... :(
-
thank you :)

:) i made my decision that i was going with canon 24-70 2.8L instead of 24-105 f4L IS. i havent bought one yet

ok, after this post, i decided to get a canon 24-70 2.8L:
http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=00MG65
but, a friend pointed out a sigma 24-70 2.8 which cost much less. I'm willing to
spend the money if its a better quality (even by a bit). is there a reason why i
should get the sigma? anyone experienced? anyone regretted sigma 24-70 2.8? :)
sounds silly, but just checking what people think.
If i'm getting the sigma, it may mean that i'm getting my 70-200 2.8L sooner..

Thx for the responses everyone.
Sadly, i didnt find any rentals around my area.
but I'm going with 2.8 :)

hmm. I'm just a hobbyist and have been taking pictures in parties and outdoor
events. indoor, i use alot of flash. However, flash does not come handy all the
time.. I'm also learning to take pics for weddings and portrait. and i do some
shootings in my mini studio.
have anyone regretted getting 24-105 IS instead of 24-70 2.8? experts, go for
the range+IS or f2.8? anyone?
-
i 'had' one.. thank God its stolen.. :)
wasnt really my favorite lens. it wasnt very sharp, so i guess the IS on this is not really worth it. well, maybe its just my copy, but i've heard complaints too. and also, it is not wide enough for a walk around lens

i'm looking for extension tube which i'm planning to attach to my
28-135. I saw some deals on ebay very cheap but it seems like it does
not have any wirings for any automatic setting information from the
camera. these deals come in a set similar to the kenko's and seems to
be of low quality.
do anyone think this would be a good buy? i thought this may work cos
extension tube does not have any glass in them.
any thoughts?

Thank you for the responses.
I'm currently using 300D with the 18-55 lens that came together with the camera. I've been shooting nature and events like BBQ party, sports, stage performance. I'm not an expert/proffesional tho. I just picked up photography early last year.
The other day a friend of mine lend me a 75-300 lens and i realised that action photography is so much easier and fun. and that makes me feel the "need" of one too..

Which one is more worth buying, 75-300mm or teleconverter mount? and
probabbly why?

I've been using fuji s7000 for the past 6 months. I'm really satisfied with the result. it has got 6x optical and 3.2x digital zoom. the digital zoom isnt too bad in case you need it. it also have super macro feature that allows you to shoot very close. it has hotshoe so you can attach external flash (but you cant have control over the external flash). it accepts compact flash card, which is very good ( 1Gb for abt $60 nowadays ). it can do up to 5 continuous shot. it can also do multiple exposure. it has manual focus whic is very lousy.
its kinda bulky, but not really a problem to me. the autofocus is not as fast as slrs, but it is not too bad. roughly 3/4 of a second on average.. not really good for action photography but i'm sure you can still somehow get good action shot with it. the time taken to store the files after each shot is not too fast, but not slow at all. the speed on this camera is kinda typical for digital cameras nowadays, i think.
the camera can do 1,2,3,6, and 12 MP images. Iso 400 AND 800(only at 3mp. the camera itself is easy to use. no problem learning it. it has M, A, S, P, Auto, and Mpeg modes. Yea, it can record mpeg movie.
for the manual setting, you can go from 15" to 10000max shutter speed, F2.8 to F8 aperture. not too bad. and the good thing abt this is that you can get a lens adapter for abt $18+shipping, and you can attach any kind of filters to it. polarizer, color, neutral density and so on, which is great for landscape photography. of course, it has tripod mount.
I got mine on ebay for abt $400. really good camera, with slr feel.
last time i shot a dance-drama event using this camera. it is in an auditorium, and no flash allowed. http://www.duhh.org/mahabarata/mahabarata3/index.html
you can look at the results of this camera there.
good luck!

Hi,
How do i bring up the colors in my photos? what should the setting on
my camera be like?
I'm shooting digital (fuji s7000) and most of the time the colors of
the object i'm shooting are pale..

i used my 24-70L for outdoor events photography and it worked very well. it costs almost around the 17-55 2.8 IS USM you are eyeing on. However, I do feel that the lens is sometimes not wide enough for this purpose (i'm using xti too).. <bR><br>
I would recommend the 17-40 L.. its not 2.8, but its an L :)
