Thanks Larry, you answered my question. I think I'll go with the 2 gig microdrive.
-
I was wondering if I can use a 1g xd card or just the 1g microdrive?
I don't plan on using movie mode. I'm going to Jamaica and want all
the storage I can get. And by the way, what's the largest microdrive,
I can get a 2g for $120 at B&H? Thanks for any help.

Colleen, I've found a place called Vista Print. They have 1000's of designs to choose from. You might find one you like. They're very inexpensive too. it's vistaprint.com

Just a suggestion......before you buy, check ebay for J&K Cameras. They have excellent pricing and excellent packages. The 20D is my dream cam by the way cuz my finances would never allow me to get a Nikon D2X.But I can still dream,

This is very informative. I just want to make sure my film and digital formats will be safe. I'm flying from Atlanta to Miami and then boarding a cruise ship. We will be debarking in Grand Cayman and imbarking. Then debarking in Jamaica and of course imbarking. Then debarking in Miami and later flying back to ATL. Will my "stuff" be safe? By the way, the ship also has x-rays. I'm really concerned about this, since I would not be able to replace anything. Thanks

Thanks for the answers. I feel relieved now. We'll be going to Cayman Islands and Jamaica. I can hardly wait. Thanks again for your help.

I'm going on a cruise at the end of October. Last time I went my
camera didn't survive the trip. I'm not sure if their xray machine
had anything to do with it or not. This time I have a digital outfit.
It would be very hard for me to replace it for a long time. Will
these xrays harm my gear? And what about the metal detectors you have
to walk through? I was going to just hang my camera around my neck
and keep my memory cards in my pocket until I got through. Will my
stuff be safe?

Michel Co. has beautiful albums. They have the proof albums with order forms too. Prices are pretty good on most of them. michelcompany.com

Thanks for all your opinions. I have photoshop but I used picasa 2 for the spot coloring. Hopefully they will like their photos. I'll find out soon. Thanks again.

I emailed Clemson University, and explained that I was a photography student (not at the school). I needed a sports photograph for an assignment. I got a season media pass as soon as I could get there. All I had to do was ask. This was for baseball. Maybe you could just ask. I shot several games as well as an NCAA regional playoff game.

Thanks for all your responses. I have a fuji S7000. I guess I'll just have to make do with the exposure compensation, once I figure it out. I'm kinda new to this but I'll figure it out. Thanks again.

The baseball games seem to last longer here lately. The lenses I have
range from f2.8 to f8.......film and digital. Are there any lenses
that zoom at least 300mm w/f1.4 or more? And by the way what would
be an average compensation, if f2.8 is too dark?

I don't know about the legal issue but I recently did some portraits and had to get 2 16x20 portraits. I got them from yorkphoto.com for 11.99 each. They also have larger sizes but I'm not sure of the prices.

Thank you so much. I found some I can use from Light Impressions. Now I'm ready for the next job.....thanks again.

I've recently done my first paying job. Now I don't have the
envelopes to put the photos in. I need 16x20 and 8x10 envelopes. I've
looked at Office Depot and Staples as well as B&H and Ritz. Where do
I find these envelopes?

I have all my shots done in matte. They don't show fingerprints as bad. IMHO glossy is distracting. But it is a personal preference.

Try Greatnationalcamera.com There's no set up fee and they take a small percentage of each sale. I've never used it, but if the opportunity arises, that's the one I'll use. WWW.greatnationalcamera.com

Eric gave some good advice. Do that and in any spare time check out the course from New York Institute of Photography. I'm almost finished. I have one more unit. I just started in July. www.nyip.com It's $1000.00 but you can pay $35 a month or 50/50, anyway you want. Any questions, you can email me. hrf62@yahoo.com

Thank you, I'll remember this next weekend. You can look at all my baseball shots on yahoo if you want to..http://photos.yahoo.com/hrf62 and let me know what you think. Some are a little too soon and some are a little too late...but I'll keep practicing. Thanks again.

Oh yeah, I was shooting at f8, 1/2000. To get a better dof, should I make the aperture larger or smaller? I had my ISO set at 800.

Thanks guys. My lens is not quite long enough on my digital, so I zoomed and cropped. No resizing. My film cam has a longer lens but it'll be a few days before I get those. I was so intimidated by the other photogs there. They had the high dollar lenses that could see a flea on a dog's butt. But I had a good time. I'm going again next Saturday. I've got a lot to learn.<div></div>
