The battery lasts around 3 hours with the Anova on full power.
Depending on your location it is fairly inexpensive to rent v-mount batteries, which is why I only bought one. If I need more batteries I prefer to rent them.

but I still think you'd have a better chance calling Chromuro in São Paulo and having them

    mail you the film:

  3. You should be fine. I would suggest a small point and shoot digital for riskier stuff in Rio,

but nothing beats local knowledge and being discreet. I often shoot in Rio and throughout

    Brazil.

You didn't mention which "other cities" you are going to so I can't be more specific.

Humidity won't be a problem unless you were to spend a long period in the amazon. As

long as the 5D and lens aren't locked up in a dark humid environment and are used

constantly, it won't be a problem.

Feel free to e-mail me for more advice.

  4. Michael,

I have run into this problem on my 70-200 2.8 with D2x, D70, and D100. The lens needs to

be serviced, since it won't stop down, resulting in overexposed images. It may appear to work

at times, but it will need to be service do stop sticking. After my lens was serviced I've never

    had this problem again.

  5. Erica,

I went to the amazon last year and my cameras had no problem at all. Please share more

details about where you are going in the amazon. The heat is not THAT extreme, but the

humidity is very high. A backup is ALWAYS a good idea, in any travel situation.

    good luck!
