For the last week or so, I have been going through some shots that I haven't dealt with over the past year. This includes our Blues Festival from last July.
Pentax K-5, Sigma 120-400mm F4.5-5.6 APO DG OS, 1/800s, f/6.3, ISO 500

Huh? I don't understand. I can get the K-5IIs for about $1060 in Canada.

I haven't been too inspired lately. Now that the sled is on the mend, I'm going back and processing a lot of shots. I finally took the camera out riding last weekend. Here's one from Sunday.
Pentax K-4, smc PENTAX-DA*50-135mmF2.8ED[iF]SDM, 1/200s, f/9.0. ISO 400
<a title="Yumpin' Yiminy by Fnawzm, on Flickr" href=" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8506/8563230711_7a3a049025.jpg" alt="Yumpin' Yiminy" width="500" height="333" />

Dave - I love that The "Ass"assin. Looks like she has a target in her sights.

-

I have a similar issue with my Sigma 120-400. Below freezing temps, it won't focus. It just hunts.

-

I can't really explain anything but I have gotten stellar 24" x 36" prints from my K10D. That's all I know.

On Sunday, we spent some time to watch some high flyers of another type.
Pentax K-5, Sigma 120-400mm F4.5-5.6 APO DG OS, 1/500s, f/6.3, ISO 200

This past weekend, a group of us went to Hay Days in North Branch, MN. On Saturday, these USAF fighters flew over.
Pentax K-5, Sigma 120-400mm F4.5-5.6 APO DG OS, 1/125s, f/8, ISO 80

A few weeks back, we went to the Great Woods Music Festival in Beausejour, MB. It was an awesome weekend. One of the highlights was the crazy show that the Shuffle Demons gave us on Friday night. This is my favourite shot from the weekend.

Pentax K-5, smc PENTAX-DA*50-135mmF2.8ED[iF]SDM, 1/60s, f/2.8, ISO 3200

I don't think an older version of firmware will work for the K20D. If I remember correctly, the K10D was the only one that used firmware to add SDM.

-

I'm not yet used to it either.
I have 4 SDM lenses and the only trouble I have had was after I dropped the 16-50 but none now that it was fixed. Never had a hint of trouble with any of the others including the DA*300mm.
The only lens I have had any focusing issues with is a Sigma HSM which has been so frustrating that I've considered pitching it into the big lake.

-

I have never bumped the mode dial on my K10D so I find the lock on the K-5 an irritant and awkward. That and the lack of an SR switch are the only two things that I would change with the K-5.
I've done the diopter bump too. Now I know to look at that first.
Back in the day I was shooting shots of our record snow fall with my Dad's Nikon. Kept shooting and shooting. The camera indicated I was up to 30-some pics. I figured that I had put in a 36 exposure roll instead of my regular 24 shot roll. Until I unloaded the camera and found it was empty.
Lately, I have had the habit of forgetting to flip the switch back to AF-S from AF-C. Usually takes me a few out of focus shots to realize it.

-

You are shooting in Av so the camera decides that 1/90s is the best exposure. If you want to control the shutter shoot in Tv or M or X.

We have had a terrible week here in Thunder Bay. A sewage plant failure caused hundreds of basements to flood. Many people without insurance or the appropriate insurance to cover damages. Lots of homes will be lost. However, the high water levels have made our waterfalls even more amazing.

Ditto to what ME said. Wide open, faster shutter. IMO, sports photog is more about the lens than the camera body.

-

I've had to claim on my homeowner's rider. Dropped my camera in the Seoul airport. Broke the lens. They paid for 100% of the repair including shipping etc. No issues at all. I've made multiple claims in the last 5 years with no issues.

-

Looks to me like they gave as much consideration to ergonomics on the D-Can as he did on the K-01. I'm guessing neither camera was designed by a someone who actually uses a camera.
