Bruce and Gabe,

You both mention using Tamron lenses. My question about them, as well as all 2.8 lenses is this.

Are they sharp wide open, because that is what I would have to use them at in these dungeon gyms here.

Thanks Mark and B.J. - Waiting on that CF4 description/comment. Thanks Mark for the reminder about F/2 @ 800 + F/2.8 @ 1600, I forgot. SO, Sometimes, one person says one thing (DOF too shallow @1.8) and another says something else (F/2.0 slow @ 800). Considering your (Mark) suggestion and comment about the distance/speed and DOF I will have to go with your explanation instead of the comment that 1.8 will produce too shallow of DOF. Since I have the 40D and the Canon 85mm f/1.8 - how about B.J.'s suggestion of F/2 (maybe f/1.8) @ 1600 with custom white balance and adjust from there.

Speaking of Petri cameras, I need a manual for a Petri VI. Can anyone tell me where I might get one?

Thanx again for all the good responses. I have certainly learned something today I did not know about this lens situation, especially about the Adaptall I vs. II and the full aperture metering, etc.

The shutter button is sticking and not releasing once in a while

right away or I have to tap the camera. This just started.

How do I fix this? HELP? Can I spray it with some WD-40? WHAT?

QUESTION #2. THE FIRST TWO TEST PICS I TOOK WITH THE FED 3 HAD NOT ONLY THE FLARE, BUT SOME BLUISH CAST OVER PART. CAN YOU GUYS TELL ME WHY?

The other few test pics did not have this bluish cast over part.

Thanks Wayne. The filter size (screw in) IS 40.5 but the info

for the hood said it was 42mm. This is why I posted the question maybe without being clear on it myself. So then does the hood screw in or does the hood slip on??? Thanks, Harold

Hey, thank you to all for your replies. You have been very

helpful. I may have another question soon. I have inherited a

camera collection, which all are seemingly working and in very

good shape, except these battery problems, except one, a Petri 7s doesn't seen to have a battery. Thanks again.

I purchased an old Yashica elector 35 that is working properly it

seems as I just received it. The battery compartment has a 6v kodak

battery and the rest of the compartment is fille with a roll of tin

foil. Everything seems to be working properly BUT is this set up OK

or should I change it.

I read the other guys post on getting started in MF and no one

mentioned the seagull, the new 4 element 109. What do all of you

experienced with medium format think about this 6x6 for getting started?

AND do you have some resources for labs to develope this in the

Southeast, usa?
